You will undertake a wide range\u00a0of activities\u00a0amongst which\u00a0you\u00a0\u00a0shall be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the hiring process,\u00a0training needs and skills assessment, undertaking employee training and monitoring staff performance including\u00a0the implementation\u00a0employee wellness\u00a0and motivation initiatives.\u00a0Important to this function is your ability to\u00a0creatively aid\u00a0management to communicate and entrench the organisations culture and value system across all levels including\u00a0driving policy adherence.\u00a0Further\u00a0your\u00a0professionalism,\u00a0confidentiality,\u00a0and\u00a0inherent ability to\u00a0safeguard of\u00a0individual and organisational\u00a0information (POPIA)\u00a0will be\u00a0essential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sound like you? Read on.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Your contribution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development and implementation of HR systems\u00a0(policies and procedures including\u00a0\u00a0the creation and\u00a0implementation of effective onboarding processes.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate employee records according to policy and legal requirements including POPIA\u00a0[Human Resource Information System (HRIS)]<\/li>\n<li>Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting job vacancies, screening, interviewing, background check , contacting references and managing the hiring process of qualified candidates and placement of workers,<\/li>\n<li>Develop training and development programs by identifying\u00a0training\u00a0needs,\u00a0organising\u00a0staff training sessions and activities,<\/li>\n<li>Assist in performance management processes by implementing, monitoring staff performance system and performance appraisals,<\/li>\n<li>Support the management with disciplinary and grievance issues,<\/li>\n<li>Facilitation of disciplinary process, legal matters, and CCMA cases,<\/li>\n<li>Facilitation of employee relations and resolving human resource issues on behalf of the company,<\/li>\n<li>Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance,<\/li>\n<li>Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance when\u00a0recruiting, training, and developing staff<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinating the timesheets of staff,<\/li>\n<li>Payroll processing and payroll query resolution,<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for Leave Management system to ensure accuracy of leave days and to reduce payroll processing errors,<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and monitor employee benefits with the identified service providers.<\/li>\n<li>Looking after the health, safety, and welfare of all employees,<\/li>\n<li>Advising line managers and other employees on\u00a0legislations and or statutory requirements relating to recruitment and\u00a0employment\u00a0including key organisational\u00a0policies and procedures,<\/li>\n<li>Negotiating salaries, contracts, working conditions or retrenchment packages with staff and representatives,<\/li>\n<li>Work with relevant teams to ensure adherence to all health and safety rules and regulations, standards,\u00a0policies,\u00a0and procedures in compliance with OHS Act 85 of 1993<\/li>\n<li>Be custodian of key statutory and funder requirements i.e. EE, Skills Development\u00a0etc.<\/li>\n<li>Support organisational Audit\u00a0activities.<\/li>\n<li>Manage any other online systems relevant to the People department ensuring all activities and information comply with statutory and donor requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with developing systems and processes to support intern and volunteer initiatives within the organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we are looking for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree\u00a0level qualification in Human Resources<\/li>\n<li>Over 3 years proven work experience\u00a0in\u00a0a senior role within a Human\u00a0Resource\u00a0division or similar role.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience and certification with\u00a0HRIS and payroll systems<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication abilities<\/li>\n<li>Recruitment and selection<\/li>\n<li>Ability to foster healthy employee relations<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including presentations, demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Literacy and numeracy skills highly important.<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of labour legislation<\/li>\n<li>CCMA experience<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with donor (USG and non-USG) rules and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Human Resources statutory requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What would get us excited?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must have a core foundation in the many functions of Human Resources. An ongoing requirement is that you must be able to deal with the\u00a0dynamics of\u00a0daily challenges that arise. You may have to resolve something as simple as an employee being paid the wrong rate of pay\u00a0or it could be a much more\u00a0sensitive\u00a0issue such as a pending sexual harassment investigation being conducted.\u00a0Whether the issue is something simple or more complex, a good Human Resources professional must\u00a0have the capacity to contain these\u00a0types of issues, calmly and fairly.
