Areas of focus are physical and emotional wellbeing, poverty alleviation and education.<\/p>\n<p>Jika Uluntu has established sound relationships with the communities in which they work and are looking for an energetic Education Officer to join the team.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Education Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Jika Uluntu Community Centre, Gonubie Farmers on outskirts of East London<br \/>\n<strong>Employmet Type:<\/strong> An annual contract, renewal dependent on donor funding.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to support Jika Uluntu\u2019s community response, with a specific focus on strengthening and expanding the delivery of Jika Uluntu education programme, its activities and the associated reporting requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide direction &amp; oversight of the Education programme<\/li>\n<li>Prepare, plan &amp; deliver structured afterschool curriculum<\/li>\n<li>Provide practical guidance &amp; support to the creche teacher<\/li>\n<li>Deliver weekly child focused social behavior\u00a0programme<\/li>\n<li>If required, initiate grade R curriculum<\/li>\n<li>Explore technology responses to strengthen educational support<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen &amp; expand linkages local schools &amp; other education stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Provide programmatic review &amp; input<\/li>\n<li>Successfully participate in project specific training activities<\/li>\n<li>Complete reporting &amp; other assigned administration tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years experience in education<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 year education degree\/diploma \u2013 Foundation phase<\/li>\n<li>Fleunt in isiXhosa and English<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills, proven report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Confident with technology<\/li>\n<li>Drivers license\/own transport is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Passion for children &amp; community development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an energetic individual with sound values,<\/li>\n<li>strong interpersonal skills,<\/li>\n<li>be intrinsically motivated, proactive,<\/li>\n<li>be a well organized\u00a0conscientious\u00a0worker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Send, motivational paragraph, CV with three contactable references and certified copy of qualification to<strong> <a href=\"mailto:info@jikauluntu.org.za\">info@jikauluntu.org.za<\/a><\/strong>.
