{"id":59338,"date":"2020-11-24T09:08:51","date_gmt":"2020-11-24T07:08:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=59338"},"modified":"2020-11-24T22:03:32","modified_gmt":"2020-11-24T20:03:32","slug":"the-parent-centre-recent-available-job-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-parent-centre-recent-available-job-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"The Parent Centre Recent Available Job Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Parent Centre is a Non-Profit Organisation, primary preventative organization, based in Wynberg Cape Town, offering comprehensive parenting counselling, education and support services.<\/p>\n<p>The employment opportunity for community-based work with teenage parents and care-givers, and father of all ages, is open to suitably qualified applicants who have at least 2 year&#8217;s experience working with youth and families.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Community Development Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Type of Employment:Contract, full time position (40 hours per week)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implementation of The Parent Centre&#8217;s Teen Parenting programme in schools and communities, and will include liaison with schools and community-based organisations, recruitment and administration.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitation of community-based Parent Support Groups<\/li>\n<li>Networking and community-based talks<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of The Parent Centre&#8217;s Fatherhood Training programme with community-based and non-profit organisations, as well as interested fathers.\u00a0 This will include networking and liaising with organisations working with fathers, recruiting, administration and the development of training materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric certificate<\/li>\n<li>SAPS Clearance Certificate<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 year&#8217;s experience working with youth and\/or families<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of Adolescence and an ability to engage positively and firmly with adolescents<\/li>\n<li>Confidence to engage on a professional level with school principals and staff and other community-based professionals<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of fatherhood and\/or men&#8217;s issues<\/li>\n<li>Confidence to train a group of fathers of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences<\/li>\n<li>Workshop facilitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in isiXhosa and english &#8211; verbal and written\/administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well within a team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative, plan, work both independently and cooperatively, and with diligence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following would be advantageous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A valid driver&#8217;s license<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Afrikaans<\/li>\n<li>Parenting experience and experience of working with fathers or men<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you meet the requirements, please<br \/>\nSubmit a motivation letter and CV to <strong><a href=\"mailto:reception@theparentcentre.org.za\">reception@theparentcentre.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Monday, 30 November, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, screened and interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Parent Centre is a Non-Profit Organisation, primary preventative organization, based in Wynberg Cape Town, offering comprehensive parenting counselling, education and support services.
