The AMS is a non-profit organisation with bases in the Western Cape (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ams.org.za\/about-us\/bases-fleet\/cape-town\">Cape Town<\/a>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ams.org.za\/about\/bases\/oudtshoorn\">Oudtshoorn<\/a>\u00a0) and KwaZulu-Natal (<a href=\"http:\/\/ams.org.za\/about\/bases\/durban\">Durban<\/a>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ams.org.za\/about\/bases\/richards-bay\">Richards Bay<\/a>) \u00a0that provides an air ambulance network, rural health outreach and emergency rescue service to metropolitan areas and remote rural communities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Accountant\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Airport Industrial Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> Financial Manager<\/p>\n<p>A like-minded qualified individual who will challenge and question processes and procedures in the effort to be instrumental in refining and optimizing the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements: &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appropriate tertiary qualifications (honors degree)<\/li>\n<li>Registered with a recognized professional accounting organization (SAIPA\/CIMA\/SAICA)<\/li>\n<li>2 \u2013 3 year\u2019s commercial experience (required)<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with either Xero \/ Sage \/ SAP \/ Pastel and MS Office<\/li>\n<li>Must be a South African Citizen.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work independently<\/li>\n<li>A clear and methodical approach to problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Ability to understand complex concepts.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Advanced excel skills<\/li>\n<li>Eagerness to learn<\/li>\n<li>Reliable personal transport.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability to a fast changing environment.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility with changing requirements regarding working hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full Accounts Payable \u2013 capturing and processing of invoices including, monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc queries<\/li>\n<li>Accounts Receivable\/Debtors<\/li>\n<li>General Ledger \u2013 processing monthly journals and cashbooks<\/li>\n<li>Preparing reports and reconciling bank statements<\/li>\n<li>Assist in preparing monthly management accounts<\/li>\n<li>Asset Register<\/li>\n<li>3<sup>rd<\/sup> party payments (VAT \/ SARS etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Preparation for annual budgets \/ annual audits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preference will be given in terms of the AMS\u2019s Employment Equity Policy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>E-mail your CV to <strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@ams.org.za\">recruitment@ams.org.za<\/a><\/strong> by no later than Friday 11<sup>TH<\/sup> December 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Be advised that if you do not receive a response within two weeks, please deem your application as unsuccessful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1966 by the SA Red Cross Society and formed into an independent trust in 1994, the AMS shares the\u00a0principles and creed\u00a0of the South African Red Cross Society.
