The organisation exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Business Development Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town\/ Pretoria<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> Chief Executive Officer<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> R448, 400 CTC per annum (negotiable)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to develop and manage IkamvaYouth\u2019s fundraising and sustainability strategy. Furthermore, he\/she is required to oversee the efficient running of the business development department and to support other departments in achieving overall objectives of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Development and implementation of a fundraising and non-grant income strategy to achieve greater financial sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that department meets its fundraising, non-grant income and reserve targets<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of research and development projects regarding donor recruitment<\/li>\n<li>Develop and initiate strategies to ensure donor retention<\/li>\n<li>Preparation and management of the departmental budget<\/li>\n<li>Development, implementation and management of the marketing and public relations strategy<\/li>\n<li>Manage a Business Development team<\/li>\n<li>Active implementation and promotion of a work culture in line with IY values<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification &amp; Competencies Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in development studies or a business related degree<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in sales, fundraising, or business development<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years\u2019 management experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in grant management is required<\/li>\n<li>Proven track fundraising track record<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi task and prioritise multiple activities<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>High degree of computer and financial literacy<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact in a professional manner<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of salesforce would be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to IY\u2019s five values and redressing inequalities through education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit their Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter via email to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:careers@ikamvayouth.org\">careers@ikamvayouth.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0with the subject heading \u201cBusiness Development Manager\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 22 January 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IkamvaYouth is a township-based volunteer programme that gets learners out of poverty through education.
