Oxfam SA is an Affiliate of Oxfam International, a global confederation of 20 Affiliates working together in more than 90 countries across all regions of the world for a just world without poverty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Interim Executive Director<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Johannesburg, Oxfam South Africa<\/p>\n<p>The IED will work with the Board and OZA staff team as the main executive responsible of the organization. He\/she will provide leadership along with the members of the Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership team made up of the Managers of the organisation\u2019s various departments. He\/she will also contribute to the leadership of the Oxfam Confederation, together with the Executive Directors of the other affiliates and the Executive Director of Oxfam International.<\/p>\n<p>The IED will be appointed for a <strong>one-year contract<\/strong> and it is expected that this position will be in place by the <strong>1st March 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities for this exciting senior position include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driving the strategy implementation including organisational reform processes emanating from the Strategic Framework:<\/li>\n<li>Providing leadership, strategic visioning and guidance with regard to organizational positioning internationally in line with OZA mission and values<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring consistent standards of excellence and innovation within the organization<\/li>\n<li>Acting as ex-officio board member, keeping the OZA Board of Directors appraised and engaged with strategic and organizational issues<\/li>\n<li>Providing Financial Oversight including ensuring the development and maintenance of sound financial practices and the efficient and effective management of all financial functions of the organization<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring adequate Organizational policies, systems and procedures are in place to guarantee compliance to contracts, registration requirements, and donors<\/li>\n<li>Being an active member of committees and working groups within Oxfam International so as to define common strategies, plans and operational models for all the affiliates<\/li>\n<li>Building new and strategic alliances to ensure effective development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that will fortify the ability of the organization to fulfil upon its mission<\/li>\n<li>Playing a lead role in mobilizing resources (from institutional and individual donors), strategic alliances, external relations and advocacy, anticipating and engaging with new opportunities for resources, strategic partnerships and broader influence<\/li>\n<li>Representing the organization at key events, including speaking engagements, advocacy for rights-based policies and programs, authoring articles and op editorials and other highly visible roles that share OZA\u2019s political experience and perspective to shape civil society discussion<\/li>\n<li>Building political and social networks with other institutions and NGOs, both at national and international levels, in order to contribute to the mission of the organization<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the proper management of the organization\u2019s resources to achieve institutional goals by maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency and adequate use of those resources<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct throughout the organization and commit to be an example of this in your practices and behaviors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Interim Executive Director must possess and be able to demonstrate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Master\u2019s Degree in social science, development or related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in written and spoken English and in one of the local languages<\/li>\n<li>10 or more years of progressive management experience in a development or voluntary sector organisation<\/li>\n<li>Five or more years working at senior level for non-profit management experience<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record of successful leadership and management of complex, change orientated and ground-breaking organisations<\/li>\n<li>Experience in building healthy teams and a collaborative organizational culture<\/li>\n<li>Agile Leadership and change management capacity<\/li>\n<li>Experience in international organistions will be an asset<\/li>\n<li>Capacity in supervising budgetary and financial management in an organization<\/li>\n<li>Transformational leadership and multidisciplinary teams, with strong skills in developing people and supporting them to reach their maximum potential<\/li>\n<li>Experience in leading advocacy, policy and influencing work at various levels<\/li>\n<li>Ability to achieve results through a team with high level of responsibility, involvement, autonomy and competence<\/li>\n<li>Experience in fundraising and donor management<\/li>\n<li>Ability to make quick and strategy-focused decisions<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of South Africa and the Southern Africa region\u2019s social, political and economic context<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in navigating regional and global dynamics<\/li>\n<li>Experience in public engagement and digital transformation will be an asset<\/li>\n<li>Availability to travel nationally and internationally up to 5 weeks per year and other 5 weeks in short
