The African Disability Forum (ADF) is the continental membership organization of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (DPOs) in Africa. As of March 2019, ADF membership included national DPO federations in 42 countries, 4 sub-regional DPO federations and 9 continental DPOs. The ADF Office is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and focuses on regional advocacy, communications and member organizational development and capacity-building activities.<\/p>\n

Job Title:<\/strong> Program Director<\/strong> Job Summary<\/strong>:<\/p>\n To unify and amplify the voice of persons with disabilities, their families and organizations in Africa at national, regional and international levels. The ADF Program Director reports to the ADF Executive Director, and is responsible for organizing, implementing, reporting, monitoring and evaluating the ADF annual Program of activities. \nTo strengthen the capacity of organizations of persons with disabilities in Africa to promote the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families.<\/p>\n
\nSupervise the work of Project Officers, Training Coordinator(s), Specialists and other ADF Program staff.
\nDesign, implement, and evaluate program activities to strengthen the capacity of DPOs.
\nPrepare funding proposals to partner organizations and international donor agencies.
\nPrepare Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between ADF and partners to further the objectives of ADF.
\nPrepare quarterly and end of year project reports for ADF\u2019s internal purpose, and for donor partner and local authorities, and validate the reports against attached financial reports and other documentation required as per local authorities and donor requirements guidelines.
\nEnsure all donor partner and other reporting requirements are prepared and submitted on time and are of high quality.
\nPrepare project case studies related to the activities implemented to be submitted each quarter with the reports and\/or whenever requested
\nDraft contracts with members and partners for the implementation of ADF work plan activities.
\nRepresent ADF in different bodies, meetings and events in country or in the region as assigned by the Executive Director.
\nUndertake such other tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director.<\/p>\n
\nExperience working with persons with disabilities and knowledge of Disability Rights is required.
\nAt least Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects\/programs in one of more sectors.
\nDemonstrated knowledge of program design, grant acquisition and management, resource stewardship, and cross functional coordination. Training in project cycle management is highly desirable.
\nLanguage requirement: English, with French highly desirable. Knowledge of International Sign Language an advantage.
\nDemonstrated ability to build, develop and foster relationships internally and externally.
\nExcellent administrative, communications, negotiation and decision-making skills.
\nAble to provide at least three references.
