YFM is a “Youth” radio station in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in 1997, the station is formatted to mostly play urban music genres such as Kwaito, Hip Hop, and R&B along with a minority of its airtime being dedicated to talk shows.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Direct Sales Account Executive<\/strong>
\nLocation<\/strong>: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Job Summary:<\/strong>
\nReporting to the Sales Manager<\/p>\n

The purpose of this role is to sell media opportunities to new \/ direct clients and maintain good customer and staff relationships, both internally and externally.<\/p>\n

1.Generate new Business, maintain existing business and achieve set monthly target:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Key Performance Indicators:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Generate New Business using cold-calling methods or other viable methods.
\n\u2022Maintain and grow the existing client base as per agreed targets.
\n\u2022Research and be conservant in major trends affecting key clients and others in the media sector.
\n\u2022Provide your manager with weekly activity reports relating to meetings, target status and plans to achieve the agreed targets.
\n\u2022Communicate effectively and ensure harmonious inter-departmental relationships at all times.
\n\u2022Be actively involved in all team activities.
\n\u2022Sharing of Leads and networking contacts within the team.
\n\u2022Visit at least 10 clients per a week.
\n\u2022Achieve agreed set monthly targets.
\n\u2022Action any other reasonable requests that may be required from time to time.<\/p>\n

Education And Experience Requirements:<\/strong>
\nEducation: Matric and relevant sales diploma and\/or degree would be preferred.
\nExperience: A minimum of 3-4 years\u2019 experience in direct radio sales and\/or similar.<\/p>\n

Specific Professional Competencies:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Exceptional communication and presentation skills \u2013 both verbal and written.
\n\u2022Exceptional Negotiation skills.
\n\u2022Exceptional Sales skills.
\n\u2022Must have own vehicle.
\n\u2022Must be available 24\/7 \u2013 this position requires individual to attend events after hours, weekends and public holidays as and when requested. Working hours will vary according to business requirements.
\n\u2022Understanding of integrated advertising campaign strategies and tactics.
\n\u2022Demonstrate ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and shift priorities as organisational demands required.
\n\u2022Ability to work as a team player.<\/p>\n
