Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital operates as a Public Company and its mission is to provide patient centered quaternary clinical services, as well as a platform for health education and research. Meantime, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, SKMTH has been designated a COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre by the Government of Botswana with the University of Botswana being tasked with recruitment for the project.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Part-time\/ Locum Medical Services<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> Education And Experience Requirements:<\/strong> Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or relevant field from recognized institutions. Masters\u2019 Degree will be an added advantage<\/p>\n Experience: <\/strong><\/p>\n Satisfactory completion of at least one (1) year as Medical Officer Intern<\/p>\n

\nContract Type:<\/strong> Temporary 6 Months<\/p>\n
\nTo provide curative and preventive medical care services to patients in a teaching hospital, as well as performing roles in the training and teaching of students and trainees as required.
\nRoles and Responsibilities:
\n\u2022Provide ongoing health and development assessment and advice.
\n\u2022Provide appropriate evidence based screening, risk assessment and early detection of illness, disease and disability.
\n\u2022Use of recall and reminder systems and referral, as appropriate, to national screening programmes.
\n\u2022Come up with interventions to assist people to reduce or change risky and harmful lifestyle behaviour.
\n\u2022Ensure Immunisation programmes are available to the practice population.
\n\u2022Working with public health providers in the prevention and control of communicable diseases for individuals and families and reporting to relevant public health providers.
\n\u2022Provide ongoing care and support for people with chronic and terminal conditions to reduce deterioration, increase independence and reduce suffering linking, where relevant, with appropriate service providers.
\n\u2022Provision of Health Education, counselling and information provision about how to improve health and prevent disease and interventions or treatments that treat risk factors.<\/p>\n
