Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital operates as a Public Company and its mission is to provide patient centered quaternary clinical services, as well as a platform for health education and research. Meantime, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, SKMTH has been designated a COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre by the Government of Botswana with the University of Botswana being tasked with recruitment for the project<\/p>\n

Job Title: Part-time\/ Locum Oncologist<\/strong>
\nLocation: Gaborone, South East, Botswana<\/strong>
\nReference #: UB\/SKMTH\/JBV015<\/strong>
\nContract Type: Temporary 6 Months<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong>
\nTo manage and direct activities of a specialized medical service in the Hospital, providing professional leadership to the multi-disciplinary medical team and delivering proficient specialist service in the diagnosis, therapeutic and prevention of ailments.
\nRoles and Responsibilities:
\n\u2022Perform physical assessments to detect cancerous cells.
\n\u2022Develop treatment plans based on the nature of the cancer.
\n\u2022Carry out surgical procedures on the areas affected by cancer and cancer treatments.
\n\u2022Complete procedures such as mammograms and prostate exam that stop the malignancy from spreading.
\n\u2022Provide treatment options such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
\n\u2022Collect medical information on patient histories.
\n\u2022Inform patients about the treatment options available for their cancer.
\n\u2022Provide support for cancer patients.
\n\u2022Carry out medical research.<\/p>\n

Education And Experience Requirements:<\/strong>
\nQualifications Required: Medical Specialization (MMED), Bachelor of Medicine,
\nMedical degree in Oncology and the successful completion of a residency and fellowship in Oncology.
\nExperience: At least two (2) years\u2019 work experience as Medical Specialist.<\/p>\n
