Job Title: Mechanical Engineer<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n Providing a consulting engineering service for the design, implementation and close-out of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role comprises a holistic HVAC consulting spectrum from inception, detail design, documentation and procurement, construction, site monitoring and project closeout. This role will comprise predominantly HVAC, but Wet Services and Fire Engineering Services is required.<\/p>\n KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Proficient in air conditioning heat load and ventilation calculations. \n\u2022Excellent understanding of South African National Standards (SANS), specifically pertaining to Ventilation (Global standard understanding such as British Standards, ASHRAE, etc. will be advantageous).
\n\u2022Proficient in various HVAC design software packages (e.g. HAP, Loadest, I.E.S) and manual air psychrometric analysis and design.
\n\u2022Air\/fluid\/heat Flow calculation software and analysis
\n\u2022Design, based on client requirements and specifications
\n\u2022Proficient in various HVAC modelling software and BIM conversant is essential (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.)
\n\u2022Proficient in all project stages from inception through to close-out and competent in constructing and compiling tender documentation and management of that process.
\n\u2022Formulation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ\u2019s)
\n\u2022Specialist equipment specifications understanding and approvals
\n\u2022Quality control (QA\/QC)
\n\u2022Site supervision and construction monitoring
\n\u2022Troubleshooting on existing installations
\n\u2022Cost control (related to mechanical HVAC only)
\n\u2022Project scoping and scope monitoring
\n\u2022Contractor and contract management (mechanical HVAC discipline)
\n\u2022Medical gas design experience will be advantageous
\n\u2022Fundamental understanding of wet services and fire engineering is required.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm

\n\u2022Must have 2-5 years post-graduation working experience.
\n\u2022Must have experience related to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) Mechanical design on commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential or pharmaceutical projects.
\n\u2022Must have experience related to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) Mechanical construction monitoring on commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential or pharmaceutical projects.
\n\u2022Experience in Medical Gas, Wet Services and Fire Engineering Services will be advantageous.
\n\u2022Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng eligible for registration will be advantageous<\/p>\n
