\nReview and resolve disputes in a fair and equitable manner. Contribute to the safeguarding of the organisations reputation by mitigating risk, defending disputes and providing legal guidance to the business.<\/p>\n
\nAnalyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.
\nDefend the organisation\u2019s reasoning to the applicable platforms where and when required. Manage and maintain disputes including the drafting of legal responses, listening to evidence and making decisions regarding disputes; as well as the issuing of instructions to attorneys regarding summons received and all correspondence with attorneys where and when required.<\/p>\n
\nProvide specialist insight on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others. Draft written communication to external platforms
\ndefending business’ position.<\/p>\n
\nLiaise and ensure continuous communication on disputes referred to the applicable platforms on a verbal and written basis within the set time frames provided by their offices. Liaise with attorneys and\/or applicable platforms to negotiate the best possible fee\/settlement.<\/p>\n
\nBuild effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high-quality professional services with guidance from senior colleagues.
\nBuild and maintain relationships within the organisation and applicable platforms.<\/p>\n
\nIdentify instances of non-compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and\/or relevant regulatory requirements, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing
\neducation, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
\nEnsure up to date knowledge of applicable platforms. Ensure up-to-date
\nknowledge of organisational procedures and philosophies.
\nKeep abreast of all relevant legislation as well as best practice and apply accordingly.<\/p>\n
\nGeneral Experience:<\/strong>
\n2-3 years\u2019 experience in a legal\/dispute environment (Essential)
\n2-3 years\u2019 experience in the insurance industry (Advantageous)
\nLegal background within an insurance industry (Advantageous)

\nGrade 12\/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
\nRelevant 3 year Legal \/ Business related degree \/ diploma (Advantageous)
