\nWork Description – The purpose of this position is to provide highly experienced and efficient clinical services under the supervision of the Professional Nurse whilst adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.<\/p>\n
\nProvide comprehensive, safe and effective evidence based clinical procedures to achieve identified health outcomes
\nManage daily activities required for the implementation of the research study
\nFulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the South African Nursing Council and the Health Professions Council of South Africa
\nEnforce the rights of all participants and maintain cultural sensitivity
\nPlan and evaluate clinical procedures in consultation with the multidisciplinary team
\nProvide progress reports and recommendations on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of processes<\/p>\n
\nLiaise with stakeholders and contribute towards the achievement of Company and Divisional goals.
\nEffective communication with relevant stakeholders regarding constraints and appropriate resolutions
\nPerform HCT on participants
\nDraw blood and other specimen
\nPerform urine tests
\nPerform health assessments
\nMonitor vital signs
\nProvide counselling to participants as and when required
\nProvide on-going risk-reduction counselling to participants
\nArrange follow up assessments for participants when necessary
\nRefer participants to health facilities nearby for further assessment and management when required
\nManage and administer data collection tools (but not limited to) consent forms, assessment of understanding, risk assessment questionnaires, counselling or interview documentation
\nCompile and submit study case reports (CRFs) and source documents timeously
\nManage the data and filing system as per SOPs
\nCompile monthly statistical report
\nSubmit recommendations on increasing effectiveness and efficiency in processes to line management
\nManage the retention of participants
\nObtain, verify and update detailed locator of participants after each participant visit
\nContact participants telephonically prior to visits
\nManage participants\u2019 medical history
\nMaintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
\nParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
\nIdentify own developmental needs and implement approved recommendations
\nComply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed legislation
\nReport all unsafe activities to Senior Management\/Human Resources
\nAdhere to decision making procedures<\/p>\n
\nEducation:<\/strong>
\nCertificate of Enrolled Nursing
\nRegistration with the South African Nursing Council
\nGood Clinical Practice Certificate
\nHIV\/AIDS Counselling and Management Certificate<\/p>\n
\nMinimum 2 years\u2019 working with Key Populations
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in clinical or public health research
\nExtensive counselling experience<\/p>\n
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in HIV\/AIDS and TB related accountabilities<\/p>\n
