To pro-actively supervise and monitor conduct of business of entities authorized to issue banking products and entities authorized to provide payment services. To design and implement supervisory framework that is pre-emptive and pro-active, risk based and proportional, intensive and intrusive, transparent and consultative and also outcomes based. The person appointed to this position will report to the Departmental Head: Supervision Banks and Payment Providers.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022Manage a team of analysts that perform desk based and on-site supervision following a risk based supervisory approach;
\n\u2022Ensure that supervisory plans are managed and executed on time;
\n\u2022Oversee and participate in On-site and Off-site Supervision Activities;
\n\u2022Manage the investigation of all complaints relating to Banks and Payment Providers;
\n\u2022Ensure implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures to support the risk-based supervision approach;
\n\u2022Engage with industry stakeholders on various conducts of business supervisory matters;
\n\u2022Innovate new processes and procedures where a need is identified within the department to ensure optimum performance; and
\n\u2022Manage the human resources of the team effectively and efficiently (train, develop, monitor, lead and assess performance of staff);<\/p>\n
\nThe candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement, good interpersonal skills, confident and decisive approach, the ability to analyse problems, the ability to gather information; the ability to manage projects; be able to interact effectively with senior staff\/ industry partners and stakeholders; and organise, lead and motivate a team in order to meet individual and work group goals; ability to work effectively under pressure whilst upholding an emphasis on quality.<\/p>\n
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Commerce, Law or Banking and other relevant discipline with at least 5 years working experience within the financial services industry, 3 of which must be in a management level. A good knowledge and understanding of Banking industry and related operational requirement is required. The successful candidate must be able to display good planning, organisational and leadership skills.<\/p>\n
