{"id":6418,"date":"2012-07-10T00:47:22","date_gmt":"2012-07-09T22:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=6418"},"modified":"2013-09-30T14:05:21","modified_gmt":"2013-09-30T12:05:21","slug":"etv-sa-vacancies-sports-reporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/etv-sa-vacancies-sports-reporter.html","title":{"rendered":"etv SA Vacancies: Sports Reporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SPORTS REPORTER &#8211; Cape Town Newsroom<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to the Executive Producer, Sport, your key performance areas will include:<br \/>\n<\/strong>conduct preliminary and follow-up probing telephonic interviews<br \/>\narrange interviews and briefing interviewee on topic beforehand<br \/>\ninstruct cameraman on set-up of interview (topic, appropriate visuals)<!--more--><br \/>\npresent on camera including broadcasting live into a news bulletin when there is breaking news<br \/>\ncheck archives for specific identified news items<br \/>\ncheck articles of interest in newspapers and electronic media (wires)<br \/>\nedit pictures and notes and directing editor to cut pictures according to storyline<br \/>\nestablish and build up a comprehensive contacts resource base<br \/>\nidentify stories through research, sourcing, networking and studying oversees media<br \/>\nkeep abreast of sports developments in the region and advising the assignments desk on which issues should be given prominence<br \/>\nlay voice on tape<br \/>\nprovide television reports on the latest sports developments in the region<br \/>\nscreen functions, events for possible newsworthy items and representing e.News at functions<br \/>\nwriting final copy of news bulletin<br \/>\nwrite stories to tie in with pictures<br \/>\nperform administrative functions relating to your journalistic work<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<br \/>\n<\/strong>journalism degree\/diploma or equivalent qualification<br \/>\nat least 3 years broadcasting experience<br \/>\npassion for sport and excellent knowledge thereof<br \/>\nability to combine quality visuals and vibrant scripts<br \/>\npresentation skills<br \/>\nwork to strict deadlines<br \/>\ninitiative<\/p>\n<p>Note:<br \/>\nthe successful candidate will be required to work irregular and long hours, including weekends and public holiday, and standby shifts.<\/p>\n<p>If you possess the required criteria and qualifications, please send a letter of motivation with a detailed CV to Jobs@etv.co.za<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date: 13 July 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only shortlisted applicants who meet the criteria will be contacted.
