\nEnsure the accuracy and compliance of the taxation function within the TIH
\ngroup. Align and maintain all tax relevant information within the TIH group.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop and\/or deliver on plans to ensure overall tax compliance for TIH group
\ncompanies with guidance from senior tax colleagues.
\nPerform accurate and timely income tax and deferred tax computations to
\nensure accurate recording of income and deferred tax expense in the financials
\non a quarterly, interim and annual basis. Ensure monthly tax schedules and tax
\nasset registers are prepared and reviewed adequately in order to ensure all
\nsignificant expense accounts and assets are compliant with the tax legislation.
\nSubmit complete and accurate income tax returns and supporting documents to
\nSARS (including ITR14s, ITR12T, IT14SD, IRP6, CbC Reporting, etc) and have
\nzero-tolerance for SARS interest and penalties. Constantly review income tax
\nprocesses, tax legislation amendments and develop ways to improve processes
\nto be more efficient and ensure continuous tax compliance. Ensure the SARS
\nledger accounts and the E-filing statement of account are reconciled on a
\nquarterly basis.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop and\/or deliver a plans to ensure overall VAT compliance for TIH group
\ncompanies in collaboration with the finance team. Conduct monthly review and
\nensure VAT calculations meet all the requirement of the VAT legislation. Identify
\nfundamental errors and areas of improvement in the VAT process and provide
\nfeedback to the finance team. Oversee the submission of VAT returns to SARS
\nand address and VAT audits timeously. Ensure the VAT GL accounts and the Efiling
\nstatement of account are reconciled on a monthly basis.
\nReview payroll returns submitted by the tax administrators on a monthly basis.
\nIdentify when other indirect tax liabilities and deliver on plans to ensure
\ncompliance (eg Dividents Tax, Withholding Tax on Interest, etc.)<\/p>\n
\nProvide specialist guidance to business and the finance team on the
\ninterpretation and application of tax legislation, policies and procedures.
\nResolve with the guidance of senior tax colleagues complex or contentious
\nqueries and issues and enable others to take appropriate actions.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop and maintain positive working relationship with SARS and external
\nAuditors and resolve their queries.
\nManage and maintain the relationship with the external Auditors and ensure all
\naudit findings are addressed timeously on an annual basis.
\nManage and maintain relations with SARS and ensure all relevant tax payments
\nand documents are up to date.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop and deliver a plan for significant aspects of the
\nfinancial management and\/or control process to ensure tax payments and
\nrefunds are managed efficiently. Work within established finance systems and
\ninternal processes to ensure tax payments are made timeously. Review the
\naccuracy of payments made to SARS and ensure efficient
\ncash flow management, refunds from SARS received timeously and credit
\nbalances are utilised effectively.<\/p>\n
\nAct as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or
\noperational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and indepth
\nunderstanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry
\nbest practices through continuing professional development, attending
\nconferences, and reading specialist media.
\nDocument Review & Preparation
\nWrite and edit material for various stakeholders, tailoring the tone and content to
\nmatch the needs and expectations of each audience. Review all relevant
\ndocuments prepared by the Tax Administrators including (ITR14, VAT201,
\nEMP201, IT88, etc) on Efiling and monthly tax schedules.<\/p>\n
\nContribute to the design and creation of tax reporting processes and templates.
\nGain insurance business knowledge an identify opportunities for innovation, tax
\nsavings and compliance.

\nB.com Financial Accounting Degree (Essential); Post Graduate Qualification in
\nTax (Essential); Masters in Tax (Advantageous)<\/p>\n
