\nThe Finance department delivers a total financial service to the HSRC. This entails debtors, creditors, cash management, assets including projects office and ensures that the HSRC complies with relevant legislation and accounting principles. The successful incumbent will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The finance department of the Support Service division of the HSRC seeks to appoint a suitably qualified incumbent to fulfil the position of a Finance Director. The position will be based in the Pretoria office and is offered on a five (5) year contract.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Manage the overall financial management and accounting functions of the HSRC including entails debtor\u2019s management , creditors management , cash management, assets management, projects office and compliance with relevant legislation, accounting principles and HSRC policies.
\n\u2022Preparation of \/ and oversight of all financial reports.
\n\u2022Provide guidelines for financial planning for all units as per annual performance and strategic plans
\n\u2022Initiate, design and co-ordinate the annual budgeting process
\n\u2022Responsible for the review of Annual Financial Statements for presentation and submission to External Auditors and National Treasury.
\n\u2022Managing of the external audit completed by Auditor General, as well as other audits conducted during the year.
\n\u2022Ensuring that budget projections, expenses and revenue forecasts are updated
\n\u2022Liaise as the financial contact between the research units and funders.
\n\u2022Manage and develop staff
\n\u2022Undertake any other appropriate assignments that are allocated by the CFO or CEO.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022A four- year Degree in Financial Management and \/ or Business Administration, financial accounting or related field \u2022
\n\u2022Master\u2019s degree in Financial Management will be an added advantage \u2022
\n\u20225-10 years\u2019 experience at middle management or equivalent level in financial management, reporting and accounting \u2022
\n\u2022Competencies required: Human Resources Management, programme and project management, communication, computer literacy, client orientation and customer focus, strategic capability and leadership.<\/p>\n
