\nLife Insurance Actuarial team. Use Prophet and excel models to price existing products and develop new products from end-to-end in the direct and broker life space.<\/p>\n
\nAnalyse business requirements and to identify root cause rather than reacting to
\nsymptoms.
\nBusiness requirements need to be clearly documented within the scope of use,
\ndefinitions and assumptions made. Develop solutions that address business
\nrequirements and objectives. Refine solutions over time as more information
\nbecomes available.<\/p>\n
\nCollaborate with internal (Actuarial) and external (Business) stakeholders.
\nKeep stakeholders informed and up to date with project\/analysis delivery and
\nprovide clear and concise feedback to stakeholders.
\nMaintain measurable service levels on business requests and provide feedback
\nthat speaks to the business issue observed. Be on time and prepared for
\nmeetings with Business.<\/p>\n
\nUse data from a wide range of sources to analyse key themes and identify
\npossible impacts on the business.
\nExtract and verify data used for actuarial models.
\nData\/information to be reconciled against credible data sources (for example
\nfinancials) to ensure the data is complete and accurate. Ensure definitions and
\nassumptions are aligned to the problem statement.
\nBefore data is used for analysis\/modelling, review and acquire the required
\nsigned-off from the Technical Manager.<\/p>\n
\nDevelop, maintain and implement actuarial models and processes. Models to be
\nfit for purpose and able to estimate the reality accurately.
\nModels (and any form of estimation) to be clearly documented with the scope of
\nuse, definitions, data, and assumptions made.
\nRegularly monitor models to ensure model performance and that they are
\ncommunicated back to the business.
\nBefore Models are used for estimation within the Business, the Senior Actuarial
\nAnalyst should review and acquire signed-off.<\/p>\n
\nEffective impact and sensitivity analysis to be performed before any deployment
\nis done.
\nTranslate results from the impact\/sensitivity analysis to Business, to provide
\ninsight and what various pricing changes will mean to profitability and policy
\ngrowth within all brands and distribution channels.
\nMaintain and develop documentation on model\/pricing and clearly state what
\nneeds to be deployed and how testing will be done to ensure the deployment is
\nsuccessful.
\nEnsure monitoring process are in place to measure the performance of the
\nmodel\/pricing.<\/p>\n
\nTranslate the monitoring results so they can be understood by Business.
\nProvide an ecosystem where data and data analysis is nimble and easy to
\naccess by any team member.
\nProvide insights from monitoring to inform the Business of future modelling
\nendeavours.
\nEnsure monitoring is accurate and complete and regularly validated against
\ncredible data sources.
\nReview of results on a regular basis and ready to be presented to the Actuarial
\nManagement level.<\/p>\n
\nReview existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation
\nprocesses to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are
\ndelivered.
\nStay up to date with Business developments and develop solutions proactively
\nwithin Business.
\nEnsure data processes are continuously maintained and kept up to date.
\nContinuous development\/research of modelling techniques and feature
\nengineering to improve model estimates.<\/p>\n
\nExplain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of
\nwhat needs to be done and how this relates to the broader business plan
\nand the organization’s strategy, mission and vision; motivate people to achieve
\nlocal business goals.<\/p>\n
\nRespond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to
\nimprove personal performance. OR Monitor the performance of the team;
\nallocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to
\nensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance
\nmanagement and appraisal.
\nManage the development of pipelines and succession planning as well as
\nperformance scoring and management. This includes the setup of performance
\ncontracts and personal development.<\/p>\n
\nIdentify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization\/
\nactuarial policies and procedures and\/
\nor relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and
\nescalating issues appropriately.
