\nThe Financial Accountant runs a mixture of day-to-day business operations and financial reporting. Responsibilities include running operational aspects of the treasury function which is a core part of the greater group. There will also be responsibilities related to normal financial management such as production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company\u2019s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, and result in flawless audits. Supports financial decision-making information by collecting, processing, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data.<\/p>\n
\nRESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nDaily analysis of cash flows throughout the group \/ interacting with financial teams of other group companies \/ checking optimal cash options
\nDealing with banking partners, running daily cash requirements
\nChecking payments and managing banking team
\nAdding banking beneficiaries and releasing payments
\nMonthly interest and cash checks. Review and signing bank reconciliations
\nFinancial forecasting<\/p>\n
\nHelping to prepare accurate monthly financial and management reports.
\nAnalyzes financial data and extracts and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and\/or to project financial probability.
\nReview and approve month-end closing procedures, including expense allocations, account and bank reconciliations, updating of related schedules as well as fixed and intangible assets.
\nSigning off on expenses and payment processes
\nManaging and checking inter-company billings
\nControl of certain contracts and relationships, such as rentals and insurance.
\nApproving billings and ensuring accurate payments to suppliers.
\nPosting various journals related to the business to ensure reporting is accurate (monthly journals \/ customer rebates \/ accruals etc)
\nCheck accuracy of monthly debtors and creditors age analysis. Highlighting potential problems and investigating unusual amounts.
\nTracking and analysis of business performance in comparison to budget.
\nPreparation of business models and due diligence as requested by Leadership.
\nEffective Management of the operational finances.
\nFinancial Management & Internal Controls
\nAssist with audit requirements and remediate findings.
\nWork with Senior Management and Group Risk to implement recommendations for improvement of financial management systems.
\nContinuous review of the relevant accounting systems to ensure more efficient and effective reporting.
\nEffective Management of the operational finance department by establishing and maintaining financial mechanisms that reduces or mitigate financial risk.
\nReview of business unit to ensure revenue is complete and accurate and all related expenses are accurately correctly classified.
\nReview and analysis of divisional performance against budgeted and producing reports.
\nReview and approval of all supplier payments through sign of on expense payment packs and reconciliations.
\nReview bank reconciliations.
\nPrepare and manage budget workbooks.
\nReducing of operating cost where possible by seeking new and renegotiating existing contracts. Reviewing of expenses and identifying opportunities for cost saving.
\nReview of suppliers and debtors ageing to ensure trade taking place within limits.<\/p>\n
