\nKey Performance Areas:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Identify shortcomings and anomalies to regulatory framework and subordinate legislation;
\n\u2022Assist the Department with the provision of legal advice on financial markets legislation;
\n\u2022Assist with the reform of financial markets legislation and drafting of amendments as the need arise;
\n\u2022Consider and advise the Department on proposed amendments to the listing requirements and rules of the market infrastructures;
\n\u2022Assist the Department to maintain an effective framework for supervision of Over-the-Counter Derivatives Providers (ODPs);
\n\u2022Assist in the supervision and the monitoring of compliance with financial markets legislation, regulations and the rules of the market infrastructures;
\n\u2022Represent the Authority at relevant meetings of the market infrastructures;
\n\u2022Liaise with and render appropriate regulatory guidance to stakeholders after consultation with the Manager and Head of Department.<\/p>\n
\nThe candidate should preferably demonstrate the following skills and attributes: strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, active listening, critical thinking, innovative, strategic thinking and a good understanding of financial markets.<\/p>\n
\nAn LLB or similar, with at least 3 to 5 years relevant experience preferably in the regulatory environment, within the South African Financial Markets Industry, finance or related commerce. Solid experience in banking or financial markets is preferred , the ability to monitor corporate governance frameworks including experience in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and other professionals (auditors and risk specialists), demonstrable experience in reporting on business plans and assessing general performance would be desirable. An admitted Attorney will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
