\nThe ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for the financial planning industry. \nTeaching:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Implement the assessment policy and procedures of Milpark in line with HEQC requirements with regard to assigned programmes and subjects
\n\u2022Lecture and assess on assigned programmes in field of expertise
\n\u2022Manage the assessment drafting process for assigned subjects across programmes within timelines as require
\n\u2022Conduct internal moderation on assigned subjects
\n\u2022Sign off on all assessments on assigned projects.
\n\u2022Manage academic assessment discrepancies for assigned programmes and make recommendations to the Results Committee
\n\u2022Control and sign off of marks for assigned programmes
\n\u2022Assist with academic policy development for the faculty processes
\n\u2022Obtain input from industry to ensure innovation and relevance of teaching and to improve teaching material
\n\u2022Take responsibility for all learning material as well as subject related information loaded on myMilpark
\n\u2022Assist students with content related queries and deal with requests for extra student support
\n\u2022Build good relationships with internal departments and part-time academics
\n\u2022Serve on relevant academic committees<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Develop and document admission and exemption policies for the programme
\n\u2022Develop RPL policy for a specific programme
\n\u2022Oversee implementation of admission and selection policies for the assigned programmes (ensuring all entry criteria met and approval of selection and admissions)
\n\u2022Track and manage student throughput on assigned programmes, in consultation with PMs, including the oversight of \u201cat risk\u201d student management
\n\u2022Action items that come out of specific student surveys and focus groups, in coordination with programme managers
\n\u2022Take responsibility and ownership for the coherence and relevance of the assigned programmes and areas
\n\u2022Ensure adequate author briefing for new subjects
\n\u2022Manage all assigned programmes with reference to quality of course content and teaching and student support
\n\u2022Monitor curriculum development implementation, performance and quality of assigned programmes
\n\u2022Prepare documentation (submissions) for registration (SAQA) and accreditation of programmes (HEQC) and for quality assurance (INSETA)
\n\u2022Assist with preparation of Prospectus\/Milpark Rules\/similar
\n\u2022Manage the review process of material for assigned subjects in line with Milpark\u2019s processes and procedures<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Recruit academic staff (lecturers, examiners, critical readers, authors, moderators, tutors, supervisors, markers) for assigned areas
\n\u2022Participate in \u201cmock\u201d lecturing process before appointment of lecturing staff so as to assess capability
\n\u2022Take responsibility for the quality of academic staff appointed and contracted on assigned subjects
\n\u2022Manage induction and development of new academic staff
\n\u2022Manage the performance of lecturing staff to ensure that lecturers meet Milpark\u2019s standards
\n\u2022Take responsibility for lecturer and examiner development of teaching and learning ability according to quality assurance requirements
\n\u2022Address poor performance of academic staff<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Conduct research and produce publications or other research outputs in line with departmental objectives
\n\u2022Assist with the research of students and faculty
\n\u2022Act as supervisor and\/or marker for student research in field of expertise

\nEducation & Experience Requirements
\n\u2022At least a post-graduate diploma in financial planning (NQF 8)
\n\u2022CFP\u00ae professional
\n\u2022Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience working as a financial advisor or financial planner<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Excellent oral and written communication skills
\n\u2022Proven record of ability to manage time and to work to strict deadlines in a fast moving and pressurized environment
