\nThe Senior Consultant will be afforded the opportunity to lead project engagements in the team. This role will involve taking responsibility for the planning and execution \/ delivery of engagements, leading project to achieve building \/ maintaining client relationships while delivering on this.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
\n\u2022Assisting management in establishing the nature of clients’ South African business activities and assessing the VAT implications pertinent thereto.
\n\u2022Effectively driving the risk process associated with the VAT consulting environment in an attempt to avoid penalties and interest for clients.
\n\u2022Executing the overall process associated with VAT consulting.
\n\u2022Effective communication and liaison with SARS with regards to any VAT consulting-related matters.
\n\u2022Assist with the developing of junior staff both from technical and soft skills perspective.
\n\u2022Assisting BDO to achieve its financial targets driving the BDO brand, business development, technical tax competence and client service in line with BDO values.
\n\u2022Interpreting and applying theoretical and industry knowledge to a practical business solution by utilising a sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
\n\u2022Drafting technically correct opinions, advice and reports for review to be provided to clients.
\n\u2022Gathering information from different sources by using effective research tools.
\n\u2022Assisting with the research and preparation of proposals.
\n\u2022Adapting to a changing work environment and accommodate changing client demands.
\n\u2022Visiting clients to remediate tax issues and assist clients with SARS audits and queries.
\n\u2022Overall WIP management such as preparing and managing budgets, debtors and monthly invoices.
\n\u2022Producing accurate work and client deliverables to high technical standards.
\n\u2022Microsoft office suite proficiency.<\/p>\n
\nQualifications:<\/strong>
\n\u2022BCom Accounting \/ LLB
\n\u2022BCom Honours in Accounting or Taxation or HDip in Tax or VAT
\n\u2022Advanced VAT certificate will be advantageous<\/p>\n
\n\u20223 – 5 Years practical VAT consulting experience
\n\u2022Strong VAT technical knowledge and practical experience
\n\u2022Financial Services experience will be advantageous<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Excellent writing skills
\n\u2022Excellent communication skills

\n\u2022Continuous inclination and preparedness to improve technical and other abilities
