The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is a public entity under the National Department of Science and Innovation (DSI).

Job Title: Finance and Project Accountant<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> Finance and Project Accountant:<\/strong> Requirements:<\/strong> Key areas of responsibility will include but not limited to:<\/strong>

\nThe following permanent vacancy exists at SANSA Space Operations programme in Hartebeesthoek, to be filled by individual with relevant skills, competencies and qualifications.<\/p>\n
\nReporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for accounting tasks in compiling the monthly management accounting. Ensure the Debtors Master file maintenance with multiple currencies, timeous, accurate invoicing, and collection of debt. Balancing of the general ledger to the fixed assets register, maintenance of the fixed assets register with additions, asset tags, disposals, annual impairment testing, locations, condition, and custodians. Complete general ledger reconciliations for review and process all journal entries for approval. Aid Project managers in finance accounting. Complete the monthly commitments schedule.<\/p>\n
\nThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:<\/strong>
\n\u2022A Bachelors degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting
\n\u202210+ years\u2019 experience in a similar role
\n\u20223+ experience working on Sage X3 (reports automation, fixed assets, and all standard financial modules)
\n\u2022Foreign Currency experience
\n\u2022Reconciliation\u2019s experience
\n\u2022Knowledge of the following is advantageous: The applicable legislative and regulatory framework \u2022 Public Finance and Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations and guidelines knowledge, and GRAP knowledge \u2022 Departmental accounting, planning and budgeting policies and procedures \u2022 Assets policies and procedures knowledge \u2022 Assets systems (manual \/ automated) \u2022 Principles and practice of asset management \u2022 Tools and techniques for asset verification \u2022 Principles and practice of asset valuations \u2022 Financial project management experience and applicable GRAP knowledge \u2022 Principles and practice of accounting \u2022 Knowledge of reconciliations
\n\u2022MS Office (word and excel: pivot tables and V-Lookup).
\n\u2022A valid drivers\u2019 license<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Maintain financial transactions and information on Sage X3
\n\u2022Financial accounting of projects, journals, cost centres, reconciliations, budgets and subsistence & travel (S&T)
\n\u2022Debtors and Revenue
\n\u2022Foreign exchange transactions
\n\u2022Asset accounting and management
\n\u2022Documentation, reporting and general tasks<\/p>\n
