The Human Sciences Research Council is a statutory research agency whose mandate is to inform the effective formulation and monitoring of government policy; to evaluate policy implementation; to stimulate public debate through the effective dissemination of research-based data and fact-based research results; to foster research collaboration; and to help build research capacity and infrastructure for the human sciences. \nThe Office of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (ODCEO) seeks to appoint an experienced, high functioning Project Administrator on a 3 year contract commencing in December 2021 or soon thereafter, to be based in Pretoria. The programme for which this appointment is to be made is called the Department of Science and Innovation \u2013 Human Sciences Research Council (DSI \u2013 HSRC) Internship Programme. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic study and competent performance in the workplace by offering structured internship opportunities to unemployed graduates in the Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) disciplines as well as those in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) discipline. The programme is designed as an evidenced demonstration study which will investigate the impact of provision of structured work integrated internship opportunities to targeted graduates in enhancing labour market outcomes.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n1.Organising internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences;
\n2.Preparation of correspondence and email management;
\n3.Preparation of documents and agendas for meetings in consultation with Programme Manager and Principal Investigators;
\n4.Minute taking for programme related meetings;
\n5.Management of filing systems and documents register;
\n6.Arrangements regarding financial, human resources and procurement processes e.g. travel\/accommodation arrangements, claims management, field-work arrangements and purchasing consumables;<\/p>\n
\n8.Assist with the compilation of reports including monthly narrative reports for submission to the ODCEO and quarterly reports to DSI.
\n9.Assist in managing data, both quality and storage, and ensure that adequate back-ups are in place, and all team members have access to relevant data and project information;
\n10.Ability to develop of media content for newsletters, report formatting and for social media platforms, as well as for the web online platform, would be an added advantage.
\n11.Any other general administrative and secretarial support.<\/p>\n
\nKey requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n2.Advanced computer skills and accurate typing
\n3.Proven senior-level administration;
\n4.Excellent writing skills and precise use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to write good quality minutes;
\n5.Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to interface with, among others, representatives government, funders, business partners, research staff and administrative colleagues and service providers;
\n6.Confident and prompt planning, scheduling and organisational abilities;
\n7.Sound office management, maintenance, procurement, administration and record-keeping skills;
\n8.Media and communication skills including development of newsletters, social media posts, formatting of reports.<\/p>\n
