<\/a>Old Mutual CA (SA) Training Program<\/strong> offers training and bursaries to candidates who wish to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant<\/strong>. The program is previously known as Training Outside Public Practice (TOPP) and now SAICA which is the umbrella body for Chartered Accountants has changed the name.<\/p>\n How do you become a Chartered Accountant?<\/strong> Why be a Chartered Accountant @ Old Mutual? Due to the diversity of its businesses, Old Mutual offers a multitude of career opportunities for aspiring Chartered Accountants including:<\/p>\n Risk & compliance management through our Group Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management. Opportunities for secondments to our international offices also exist due to our presence in the United States, the United Kingdom & Sweden.<\/p>\n You need a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) or a Post -graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDAP) before you apply for Old Mutual\u2019s Training Outside Public Practice (TOPP) programme.<\/p>\n Applications need to be submitted by 31 July annually.<\/p>\n All applications will be reviewed and successful applicants will be invited for an interview and further assessment.<\/p>\n The application form must be accompanied by all the documentation requested on the application form. This includes certified copies of your academic transcripts and identification documents.<\/p>\n Please note: application forms that are incomplete or do not have supporting documentation will not be considered.<\/p>\n
\nThe first step to becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) after completing Matric is completing a B. Comm. Accounting or Equivalent at universities accredited by SAICA. You are then required to complete CTA or equivalent. After you have completed all the academic requirements, you need to get a job with a Training Office (ATO) like Old Mutual. Once hired, you will complete a three-year training program. Whilst doing your training\/ internship, you need to complete Part one and two of the Qualifying Examinations (QE1 and QE 2).
