\n1. Conduct extensive activities to support and promote research and innovation in the area of Artificial Intelligence
\n2. Teaching and administration responsibilities
\n3. Multidisciplinary teaching activities through collaboration between the two universities and beyond
\n4. Postgraduate education
\n5. Supervision of postgraduate students at masters and doctoral level
\n6. Develop the postgraduate education – research – innovation nexus, through mentoring of postgraduate students, yielding, through the Technology Transfer Offices, to a culture of technology start-ups
\n7. Supervision and partnership with postdoctoral research fellows
\n8. Conduct leading research in areas aligned to Artificial Intelligence producing recognised research outputs (DHET accredited journals, book chapters, books)
\n9. Advance the discipline through community engagement and active participation in voluntary associations \/ professional societies
\n10. To further the research work, attract external funding from government and private sectors both nationally and internationally.
\n11. Assist in enhancing the interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainable Smart Cities 4.0.
\n12. Ensure generation of high-quality research outputs with emphasis on reporting of innovation, citations, collaboration impact and entrepreneurship<\/p>\n

\n\u2022Doctoral degree in relevant (Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, product development) field
\n\u2022At least 8 years\u2019 research \/ teaching \/ lecturing experience in the relevant subject field, including
\n5 years in research & development and 3 years managing a research team
\n\u2022Proven record of research outputs in line with CUT\u2019s promotion requirements for Professor
\n\u2022Proven record of completed post-graduate studies supervision
\n\u2022Experience in leading\/managing externally funded research projects
\n\u2022Involvement as an editor\/reviewer\/external examiner
\n\u2022An NRF-rating of minimum C or substantially at the level of researchers who are unequivocally recognised by their peers as leading international scholars in their field for the high quality and impact of their recent research outputs
