The technician provides technical support to customers relevant to the specific area\/discipline as well as assisting Sales department with related enquiries and solutions architecture. The technician is also responsible for servicing, testing and repairs of equipment that could include inverters; solar panels and peripherals, UPS\u2019s, as well as monitors and\/or other related equipment and components depending on the requirements of the position.<\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong>
\nSpecialist Service:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Consult effectively on specific products, designing solutions based on the client\u2019s requirements.
\n\u2022Visit clients as and when necessary or accompany external sales executives on visits to clients with the purpose of presenting\/demonstrating specific products.
\n\u2022Conduct demonstrations or training of products and features in-house or on-site at clients.
\n\u2022Keep abreast of latest developments within product range.
\n\u2022Provide customer support, either via e-mail, telephonic or at the front desk.<\/p>\n

Technical Service:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Complete optimum number of repairs per day according to the specific discipline.
\n\u2022Complete work within the turnaround time of less than two days.
\n\u2022Maintain work rate at above 90% of SLA.
\n\u2022Maintaining a rework rate of below 3%.
\n\u2022Follow the correct test process for international brands.
\n\u2022Log test results on the server.
\n\u2022Accept repairs on Studio immediately after removing the item from the customer store.
\n\u2022Follow up with clients awaiting feedback and update on the system.
\n\u2022Return 100% of test stock to service stores within 2 days from receipt.
\n\u2022Complete applicable forms, such as fault reports, daily.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong>
\nQualifications and Experience:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Matric
\n\u2022Electrical Engineering N6 + Trade test \/ preferably with Saretec Solar PV Installer and GreenCard
\n\u20225 years\u2019 related experience
\n\u20222 years\u2019 Solar installation experience
\n\u2022Driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n

Skills:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Technical skills
\n\u2022be able to design, conduct the proper planning method and install and commission a solar PV system
\n\u2022Problem solving skills (analytical)
\n\u2022Good communication skills (verbal and written)<\/p>\n

Knowledge:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Application of special regulations such as the Building Regulations of South Africa (SANS 10400) and associated South African National Standards (SANS 10142-1 (Edition 2).
\n\u2022Good knowledge of internal quality procedures
\n\u2022Knowledge of ICT industry
\n\u2022Product offering software and hardware technical knowledge
\n\u2022Computer literacy especially in Microsoft applications skills<\/p>\n
