Job Title: SHEQ COORDINATOR<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> To create an environment where duties can be performed safely and risks are known and managed.<\/p>\n Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals<\/p>\n Ensure that the current policies are displayed at all areas of the operation.<\/p>\n Comply with the objectives, goals and targets set by the company.<\/p>\n Assist the BU manager to set up annual SHEQ targets & objectives for each BU.<\/p>\n Ensure all employees are made aware of policies, targets, objectives and goals.<\/p>\n Communicate policies, targets, objectives and goals with clients as per internal and external client requirement.<\/p>\n Legal Aspects\/Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n Ensure company practices comply with legal and other requirements falling in the risk management domain.<\/p>\n Give on-going report on legislative and other amendments relevant to the risk domain and comply as required.<\/p>\n Ensure submissions of applicable statutory documents.<\/p>\n Ensure that all employees are made aware of the latest legislative requirements.<\/p>\n Ensure that necessary legal and other appointments are made and maintained in the area of responsibility.<\/p>\n Advise management \/ appointees of the roles, responsibilities and duties in terms of risk management.<\/p>\n Establish a working relationship with regulatory bodies (DME, Dept of Labour, etc).<\/p>\n Training:<\/strong><\/p>\n Assist in managing training interventions to equip all employees to have the necessary skills to be competent to perform their roles with the least amount of risk possible.<\/p>\n Form part of the training initiatives of the company to improve employees understanding of the risk management systems.<\/p>\n Special Projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n Establish a Project Plan for each special project.<\/p>\n Provide ongoing feedback to management on the project.<\/p>\n Review the project at the end of the project to ensure continual approval.<\/p>\n Risk Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n Ensure that the necessary risk assessments and action plans are compiled, maintained and reviewed.<\/p>\n Assist and advise staff in meeting requirements of the risk management process.<\/p>\n Conduct risk awareness sessions and advise management risk status of the BU.<\/p>\n Monitoring and Evaluation:<\/strong><\/p>\n Compile necessary planning documents to effectively execute job requirements posed by the risk management domain.<\/p>\n Regularly perform risk audits as per requirements.<\/p>\n Establish a system to monitor effectiveness of actions taken on deviation found during audits or continuous risk assessments.<\/p>\n Establish system to manage the requirements specified by WC.<\/strong><\/p>\n Create risk management awareness by making use of the appropriate media.<\/p>\n Monitor the medical status of employees. Manage employee health exposure levels within acceptable limits.<\/p>\n Monitor environmental compliance and implement action plans.<\/p>\n Monitor quality control compliance and actions to address deviations.<\/p>\n Reporting, Recording and\/or Review:<\/strong><\/p>\n Submit monthly reports as required.<\/p>\n Report all incidents to the responsible individuals as per company procedure.<\/p>\n Report on WCA status on a monthly basis.<\/p>\n Regularly inform management of the risk status of the areas of responsibility.<\/p>\n Record all incident statistics as per requirement.<\/p>\n Record all incident information as per requirement.<\/p>\n Requirements:<\/strong> Grade 12, SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 and 2, ISO 45001:2018 Implementation<\/p>\n Minimum National Diploma in Safety, Health ,Environmental and Quality Management, Degree will be advantage<\/p>\n EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n At least 3 years experience in a mining & construction safety environment as a safety Officer or similar<\/p>\n Knowledge of the OHS act, Mine Health and Safety Act<\/p>\n SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n Strong Communication<\/p>\n Relationship building<\/p>\n Presentation and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n Mechanical comprehension<\/p>\n Manual and arithmetic skills<\/p>\n Attention to detail<\/p>\n Problem solving skills<\/p>\n Ability to work independently<\/p>\n Valid Driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n Computer Literate<\/p>\n
