The world is undergoing a once-off transition to sustainability. Wind and solar will overtake coal, oil and other fossils as the world’s primary fuels for electricity generation. Mainstream was set up to lead and accelerate this transition.

Our core business is to develop and build wind and solar plant – on land as well as at sea. We then sell the plant to its natural owners; organisations such as utilities, energy intensive corporations and pension funds.

Our expertise is taking projects through all the stages of development – such as securing land, wind analysis, GIS, environmental studies, consenting, procurement, financing and so on.

It’s a complex and often risky business. But we have a deep understanding of these risks and we’ve a track record in handling them, managing them and delivering the end result. Our experience is unrivalled. Over the past two decades, our people have helped deliver over 2,500MW of plant across four continents for many different companies.

We’re now firmly established in 8 countries. We’re also developing over 3.5GW of onshore projects across Canada, Chile, South Africa and the US.
