\nThe Junior Audit Manager oversees and ensures that the project runs efficiently and profitably from inception to sign-off by managing all the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures. The Junior Audit Manager further supports the Engagement Partner with clients’ commercial management and business development initiatives.<\/p>\n
\nBusiness Development:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Assist in generating new client leads by using different tools and platforms e.g. networking, client base analysis; diversifying from a current project
\n\u2022Assist with new client research, presentation and pitch preparation
\n\u2022Participate in special assignment as and when required
\nFinance:
\n\u2022Managing WIP and write offs
\n\u2022Timeous and accurate billing of clients, using fee arrangement letters in liaison with the partner
\n\u2022Timeous follow up on fee queries
\n\u2022Assistance with Debtors when requested
\n\u2022Negotiating budgets\/fees and overuns for clients once fee base has been agreed with the partner
\nOperations and Processes:
\n\u2022Planning
\n\u2022Timeously host the pre-audit meeting and ensure that the planning meeting is set up
\n\u2022Ensure that the audit planning is signed off before commencement of the audit
\n\u2022Prepare detailed time budgets, allocating the audit work to specific audit team members
\n\u2022Communication of deadlines and budget to staff
\n\u2022Assign staff to the audit engagement, determine the number of staff and the level of experience required, thereby ensuring that the project is adequately staffed
\n\u2022Liaison with client and preparation of the schedule of audit requirements<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Oversee and ensure that all the project activities comply with the firm’s policies and procedures
\n\u2022Perform a review on all sections in the file
\n\u2022On larger assignments perform full entity general review of lower risk subsidiaries
\n\u2022Perform function of principal client contact and take full responsibility for the client relationship management and ensure that all queries are solved timeously
\n\u2022Decide on audit appropriateness of audit opinion by resolving issues which might impact on the audit opinion and ensuring that these are brought to the attention of the engagement partner and documentation thereof
\n\u2022Manage the project timelines and ensure that allocated resources are efficiently used (review timesheets to ascertain this and to also detect problem areas for individuals
\n\u2022Manage the client and ensure that the project is delivered within the scope agreed on
\n\u2022Review the work-in-progress and discuss with Partner for action. Prepare the audit efficiency checklist
\n\u2022Ultimate responsibility for bringing audit to completion, sign-off and archiving in conjunction with the Engagement Partner
\n\u2022Review the draft financial statements and ensure that they are IFRS complaint
\n\u2022Ensure that an appropriate audit report is drafted
\n\u2022Ensure that matters for Partners attention and Overs\/Unders schedules have been prepared and discussed with the Partner and that the Partner has signed off the schedule
\n\u2022Ensure that the documents pertaining to audit finalisation \/ completion has been completed and reviewed (Overs\/Unders, Management letter, Representation letter)
\n\u2022Ensure that the post balance sheet events review work and the going concern review is completed up to the date of the signing of the audit report
\n\u2022Prepare audit committee documents, attend and present at audit committees (with audit partner discussion)
\n\u2022Attend and facilitate wrap-up meetings
\n\u2022Negotiate overruns and budgets
\n\u2022Provide low level tech support too team and department as a whole
\n\u2022Provide adequate on the job training, counselling and evaluation<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Be responsible for staff movements on and off the job (approval of leave) and timeously communicate to all relevant parties.
\n\u2022Ensure that the files for archiving are done<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Timeous completion of ANAs once completed by the trainee
\n\u2022Relationship building with the trainee
\n\u2022Timeous completion of PTS and LTS and ANAs
\n\u2022Mentoring of trainees and seniors when required
\n\u2022Assist with recruitment and selection e.g. interviews, VAC work<\/p>\n
\nQualifications and Experience:<\/strong>
\n\u2022CA(SA) or eligible to register as a CA(SA) at the end of this year
\n\u2022Completed articles within the Financial Services industry specifically
\n\u2022A proven track record<\/p>\n
