The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls which is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.<\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong>

\u25cfTo ensure that the resourcing and development of the Library Service are commensurate with the Academy\u2019s outstanding academic excellence.
\n\u25cfTo work in collaboration with all staff to lead a learning community by promoting lifelong learning and the inclusion of Information Literacy across the Academy.
\n\u25cfTo promote the love of reading and the use of information resources to maximise both the students and staff academic potential.
\nRequirements
\n\u25cfBachelor’s Degree in Librarianship and\/or Information Science or an equivalent Library qualification;
\n\u25cfPostgraduate Diploma in Education or an equivalent professional teaching qualification;
\n\u25cf3 – 5 years\u2019 experience as a Librarian;
\n\u25cfExperience in working on various library\/database software programmes;
\n\u25cfProven experience in cataloguing and classification of library resources;
\n\u25cfExtensive knowledge of a relevant library system;
\n\u25cfProven experience of working in a digital library is required.<\/p>\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25cfB Hons in Librarianship and\/or Information Science or Education;
\n\u25cfSchool library experience;
\n\u25cfAt least 2 years of experience as a Teacher;
\n\u25cfSACE registration;
\n\u25cfProven Follett experience.
\n\u25cfA proven dynamic and innovative approach to embedding a Library in the ongoing academic momentum of a school\/educational institute.<\/p>\n
