\nPrimary purpose of the role is to lead the development function within the organisation, manage a multi-skilled delivery team covering a range of technologies, define and lead continuous improvement of delivery processes, involve the high-level technical design of solutions and champion Lean\/Agile development within the organisation. Software Development Executive establishes and directs the strategic long-term goals, policies, procedures and competencies for the organisation\u2019s software development (including software quality). Provide support and guidance in the adoption of DevOps practices within the development teams, as established by the specialist DevOps function.<\/p>\n
\nRESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong>
\nStrategic Planning and Execution:<\/strong>
\nDefine the strategic roadmap and goals for maturation of Development Practices across all Software Development Disciplines including Software Quality.
\nEnsure that technology solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned with architectural principles, standards
\nand roadmaps.
\nEnsure that the Development team\u2019s purpose and objectives are clear and linked to the broader organisational vision, strategy and customer roadmap.
\nTranslate business and product objectives into streams of work.
\nConsider financial impact of technology solutions, with a view to delivering value to our customers.
\nDevelop coding and development standards, ensuring solutions are suitably assured and of quality.
\nWork with the Business and Technology Leadership, to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories.
\nClearly understand user requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nDevelop and maintain effective ways of working throughout the department and organization.
\nLead transition of solutions to outsource partner and into live service, where applicable.
\nWork closely with the Product Category Director, Product Managers and other leaders to deliver initiatives and products utilizing lean and agile project management methods.
\nLead the collaborative, dynamic planning process \u2013 prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
\nProvide technical leadership and innovation across all aspects of technology development
\nCoach and empower delivery teams to take accountability for delivery, manage issues and risk and assist by removing blockers.
\nApplication and\/or Platform ownership including facilitation of critical incident management and technical roadmaps
\nEmpower and support product owners and scrum teams to invest in application health, balancing application and platform ownership responsibilities with project delivery.<\/p>\n
\nEnable and support Strategic Delivery Partners to optimise and deliver valued outcomes from partnered resources
\nDevelop a team environment that supports team engagement and high performance in a diverse, distributed and partnered team
\nProactively manages and addresses performance issues in development team members
