Job Title: Technology Media and Telecommunications Attorney <\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> Duties & Responsibilities:<\/strong> Assisting with POPIA related matters, including drafting of complex opinions and assisting with POPIA implementations Desired Experience & Qualification:<\/strong> The candidate should be an admitted attorney with a strong academic record.<\/p>\n In addition, the candidate should also possess the following:<\/p>\n A thorough knowledge of the law \u2013 with at least 1 \u2013 3 years experience in TMT law and data privacy law experience \/ knowledge (post articles)

\nThe candidate will be expected to assume responsibility for working closely with clients as well as managing elements of various transactions. As such, this role will offer the candidate an opportunity to obtain experience in cutting edge technology transactions, data privacy matters and TMT regulatory work<\/p>\n
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nAssist with vetting, negotiating, and drafting of agreements in the TMT sector
\nAdvising on regulatory matters in the TMT sector
\nResearching law and drafting opinions
\nAttend independently to smaller matters and aspects of larger matters
\nExperience in technology transactions \u2013 drafting, vetting, and negotiating TMT related contracts as well as opinion work
\nProven knowledge and experience with POPIA, PAIA, Cybercrimes Act and related legislation
\nWorking knowledge of ECTA, ECA, CPA and related legislation
\nExperience in social media legal issues<\/p>\n
\nSkills, Abilities and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nProven and demonstrable experience in working on technology transactional matters, including drafting and vetting of TMT related agreements as well as opinion work (non-negotiable)
\nThorough and extensive knowledge of POPIA and PAIA or similar data privacy legislation such as GDPR
\nProven demonstrable experience on working on data privacy related matters
\nTelecommunications regulatory experience an advantage
\nStrong written and verbal communications skills with some experience in negotiations
\nConfidence, initiative and the ability to run matters independently
\nStrong contract drafting and vetting skills (non-negotiable)
\nRelevant work experience in a law firm
\nA passion for TMT law
\nInterest in presenting on areas of law, attending conferences, drafting articles
\nStrong analytical skills
\nThe ability to self-regulate
\nThe ability to work in a fluid and fast paced environment
\nThe ability to work in a diverse team and with diverse clients
