\nTo conduct planning and implementation for National Core Transmission networks (DWDM & SDH) and provide transport layers services based on the Roaming network, Core network, IT, billing and 3rd party requirements.<\/p>\n

\nOverall Accountability:<\/strong>
\nScope National Core Transmission to include Roaming network, Billing, core and IT
\nConduct high-level & Low-Level National SDH planning
\nConduct high-level & Low-Level National OTN (DWDM) planning
\nDevelop methods of procedure for implementation
\nEnsure and oversee implementation
\nQuality acceptance of the project
\nOn site and remote support and troubleshooting nationally
\nMaintain grade of service within network KPI\u2019s
\nSupport of regional Transmission teams
\nManages vendor performances based on contractual obligations
\nManages escalation of faults with vendors and informs all stakeholders of status
\nParticipates in the development of goals, work plans, timelines and implementation approaches
\nRegional and national escalation of faults
\nMeasure Core, Aggregation and SDH Transmission network quality and performance and develop performance indicators
\nMaintain Core, Aggregation and SDH Transmission network capacity and performance within network KPI\u2019s
\nIntroduce new Core, Aggregation and SDH Transmission features or parameters into the network
\nEnsure best practise planning methodologies are used for optimal network design.
\nNotify Senior management in advance of \u201cend of life equipment\u201d and necessary steps to safeguard operations.
\nEnsure the constant optimisation of the Infrastructure.
\nTechnology Evaluation
\nEnsure regular technology evaluations and pilots where appropriate.
\nEnsure knowledge transfer to the operations sections.
\nDefine the engineering requirements for the new elements that will be added to the existing Core, Aggregation and SDH Transmission Network
\nVendor Management
\nMonitor the vendors performance based on contractual obligations and drive the vendors\u2019 performance to achieve the target
\nMonitor and report on vendors performance at a working and functional level
\nDrive the vendors to perform the functional roles based on agreed scope of agreements and drive for efficiency
\nProvide performance feedback and drive improvements
\nReport Generation
\nGenerate reports on transmission network architecture.
\nEnsure all activities are accurately and timeously recorded.
\nEnsure all recording of performance data are accurately done.
\nCompile weekly and monthly reports on all activities as well as monthly reports detailing the utilisation and incurring costs for transmission infrastructure including links
\nPerform any other related duties as requested by Management.<\/p>\n
