Our client, a medium-sized Engineering company based in, Stellenbosch.is specialising in the design, development, integration, implementation and support of complex hardware and software systems.<\/p>\n
We are currently looking for a experienced, self-motivated and results-driven IT professional to become a member of the customer system support team. This team is responsible for the delivery of Information & Communication Technology related infrastructure, administration, technical support and other services as required for the customer systems. This position is not applicable to the internal company ICT services.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Product Support Specialist (CH804)<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> Deployment of networks. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (minimum):<\/strong><\/p>\n A 3-year tertiary qualification (CTU, Centurion Academy, a University of Technology e.g. CPUT, etc.) SKILLS \/ EXPERIENCE \/ COMPETENCIES & TECHNOLOGIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n Software: PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n Professional conduct with punctual behaviour and a strong work ethic General:<\/strong><\/p>\n The position also involves after hours work including remote work. \nResolve user and client issues within SLA. o Offer remote and potentially onsite support. o Install and configure hardware and software components.
\nAssist with user acceptance testing.
\nTroubleshoot hardware and software issues. o Perform root cause analysis.
\nRepair or replace damaged hardware.
\nPerform tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
\nProvide advanced user support and training.
\nPro-active communication to stakeholders.
\nConduct daily system checks and maintenance operations.
\nEstablish good relationships with all customers and colleagues.
\nManage technical documentation work with 3rd party vendors for system support.
\nTechnical Project Management.
\nServer Administration (Windows and \/ or Linux)
\nServer administration and maintenance.
\nUser and Group administration.
\nBackup administration.
\nNetwork Administration
\nIP and Routing design administration.<\/p>\n
\nSwitch, Wi-Fi, Router and Firewall administration.
\nDNS administration.
\nNetwork traffic monitoring and troubleshooting.<\/p>\n
\nOne or more of the following courses: MCSE, MCSA, Cisco CCNA, RHSE, etc. International certification would be advantageous
\nA minimum of 5 years relevant experience<\/p>\n
\nWindows environment software
\nMicrosoft Windows (desktop), Microsoft Server & Microsoft Office Suite
\nAnti-Virus Software (ESET)
\nBackup technologies (Altaro, Arc Server, Tape drives)
\nInfrastructure Monitoring (e.g. PRTG, Nagios, Solarwinds, etc.)
\nVM (e.g. HyperV, VMWare)
\nLinux environment software
\nLinux OS
\nDNS (Bind)
\nMail (e.g. Postfix, Sendmail, Exim, etc.)
\nFileserver (e.g. SMB, NFS, iSCSI, etc.)
\nVM (Proxmox)
\nNetworking:
\nMidlevel knowledge of routing, switching, IP addressing & FW rules o Analysis\/Troubleshooting software (e.g. Wireshark)
\nCabling and Crimping
\nNetwork equipment experience (e.g. Ubiquity, Mikrotik, Cisco, Dell, Sonicwall, Fortigate, Huawei)
\nOther:
\nPython, PowerShell and other scripting skills o Proven telephonic and onsite support history.
\nAny additional software and database skills would be advantageous.
\nExperience in telecommunication\/transmission systems including Wifi, LTE, 5G, VoIP, etc.
\nwould be advantageous.
\nExperience in fiber optics would be advantageous.<\/p>\n
\nAnalytical problem-solving with meticulous attention to detail
\nAbility to work as part of a diverse team with different skills
\nBe able to self-manage, especially when operating alone with remote support
\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills
\nNeed to continuously upskill
