\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nDuties will include but are not limited to the following:
\nDocumenting and reviewing all policies & procedures relative to the department
\nDeveloping and implementing IT policy and best practices guides for the organisation
\nChange control for new hardware \/ configurations
\nHand-Over Documentation
\nPerform system audits and identify areas requiring improvements
\nAdherence to standard operating procedures
\nCommercial \/ Customers
\nRelationship management
\nEnsuring that the business products & service offerings stay competitive and in line with market related offerings
\nClient Communications
\nStaff Management
\nOverall management of the IT Department, providing direction and task assignments
\nIdentifying & developing requirements for team training, skills, and growth
\nDeadline tracking
\nPerformance appraisals
\nStaff upliftment
\nMMR \/ Node rooms
\nManagement of all data rooms and node rooms
\nDocumentation of node rooms
\nManagement of new ISP builds
\nManaging teams of cable and wireless technicians
\nKeeping track of outages and responding accordingly
\nNew builds and design, installations and commissioning(infrastructure)
\nScheduled changes
\nNew infrastructure hardware procurement
\nLast mile installations
\nManagement of last mile fiber installations
\nDocumenting all areas of work
\nOpen access procedures, dealing with ISP
\nProject management of fiber projects
\nNew builds and design, installations and commissioning
\nWireless installations
\nManagement of wireless installations
\nDocumenting all areas of work
\nProject management of wireless roll-outs
\nNew builds and design, installations and commissioning<\/p>\n
\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent would be advantageous
\nMikrotik Qualification beneficial
\nWireless Certificate beneficial
\nExperience and knowledge
\nProven work experience in a similar role
\nExperience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
\nISP or telecommunications background, management and good understanding of Wireless High-Sites and Fibre Node rooms
\nEnsuring the physical network is well planned, documented, redundant and secure
\nInstalling key infrastructure in the network such as core switches and routers
\nFacilities management, stock, procurement
\nEnsuring that all infrastructure adheres to the TIA\/EIA 568-B standard
\nIPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting
\nFibre and ethernet technologies
\nExperience with backup and UPS technologies
\nWireless PtP, PtMP and backhaul technologies
\nRouting protocols, e.g. OSPF and BGP
\nRouting filters
\nTunnelling, e.g. EOIP \/ PPTP etc.
\nBrands such as Juniper, Mikrotik, Cisco, Dell, HP, Ubiquiti
\nPeering relationships
\nTechnical IT based experience (Phones, laptops, PC\u2019s, VOIP, WIFI etc)<\/p>\n
