\nBusiness Development and Support<\/p>\n
\nContribute to the marketing and business development of the Electrical Department to on-board new clients\/projects.<\/p>\n
\nComply with Quality procedures by ensuring auditable trail of actions during full life cycle of project delivery process all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures.
\nComply with and embrace Health and Safety requirements in the workplace as well as on construction sites.
\nEnsure that required services meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
\nParamount to this role is conceptualisation, design development, and producing detail design work, as well as delivering contract documentation, specifications, and drawings.
\nSign-off on engineering designs by taking professional responsibility as per ECSA guidelines for designs executed.
\nSuccessfully manage small to medium size projects.
\nDesign of electrical reticulation and building services for various types of projects including but not limited to the following: hospitals, commercial \/ residential and industrial buildings, reticulation and bulk connections for residential \/ retirement, commercial and industrial developments.
\nDesign of services\/systems such as, but not limited to bulk applications, small power, lighting, fire detection, access control, emergency services, ML\/LV reticulation, streetlighting, telecoms containment, fibre networks.
\nDetailed knowledge of renewable energy designs will be an added advantage, this will include solar PV design, wheeling, wind farms, etc.
\nEnsure that project start-up processes are followed, and the project scoping is clear and approved.
\nEnsure that changes comply with project change management processes.
\nProvide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and other project teams and participate in peer reviews.
\nPrepare project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
\nPrepare and evaluate alternative concept designs, and liaise with other disciplines, both internally and externally.
\nDevelop detail designs or detail design\/build specifications, manage the preparation of drawings, and prepare tender documentation, in order to produce engineering deliverables of a high standard.
\nFacilitate and assist with the tender and adjudication process leading up to contractor appointment and site hand over.
\nProvide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
\nPlan, coordinate and manage the design, procurement, and construction of assigned projects.
\nConduct contract administration and do testing, commissioning, and inspections of installations.
\nDevelop initiatives to improve the cost effectiveness and efficiency of project execution.
\nParticipate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
\nPresent design solutions to clients for approval.
\nResponsible for routine administration tasks as required from time to time.<\/p>\n
\nParticipate in continuous professional development training in order to maintain professional registration.
\nMentor, coach, train, and provide technical leadership to others who are registered as candidate engineers\/technologists.<\/p>\n

\nDesired Experience & Qualification
\nB. Eng\/B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering at a recognized institution.
\nProfessional registration is preferred or be eligible for Professional registration with ECSA within one year of appointment.
\nTen or more years of relevant experience post degree qualification (position will be dependent on years\u2019 experience).
\nAbility to manage and interact with people effectively.
\nAbility to grow and maintain client relationships.
\nFluent in English.
\nKnowledge & experience of South African working conditions including SANS 10142 and 10400-XA.
\nMust be able to work independently and execute all stages of a project with minimum to no supervision.
\nBe a team player and work well with others.
\nGood verbal and written communication skills are essential.
\nProven ability to execute designs, work as part of a team, as well as manage small to medium projects.
\nDiligent and able to work under consistent pressure to meet deadlines.

\nGood financial acumen in project planning, control, and execution.
\nHigh level of specialised computer skills is key to this role, e.g., Autodesk suite of software, especially AutoCAD, Helioscope or other solar PV design experience will be beneficial, ReticMaster, DIALux and Relux.
\nHigh level of general computer skills, e.g., MS Office suite of software, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
\nExperience in REVIT, as well as scheduling software like MS Projects will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
