You will be responsible for identifying, managing and deploying appropriate technology, watching trends in the market and ensuring that business navigates these trends through strategic network planning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: CTO (Telecomms) (Durban or Johannesburg) (HLR7741)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\nSet a vision for how technology will be used in the company.<br \/>\nSet the technology architecture of the company ie fibre, microwave, IP\/MPLS, DWDM, GPON, ensuring that the technology architecture supports the business priorities.<br \/>\nEnsure that technological resources meet the company&#8217;s short and long-term needs.<br \/>\nStay abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology, implementation, and service delivery landscape.<br \/>\nCreate timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.<br \/>\nMake executive decisions on behalf of the company&#8217;s technological requirements.<br \/>\nManage technology budgets CAPEX and OPEX<br \/>\nAlign company technology, implementation, and service delivery resources with company&#8217;s short and long-terms goals.<br \/>\nCreate and implement technology, implementation, and service delivery strategies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Experience &amp; Qualification:<\/strong><br \/>\nHonours Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.<br \/>\nMasters Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferable.<br \/>\nA Business Management qualification preferrable.<br \/>\n12 years post qualification experience in the telecommunication industry within technology, infrastructure network build and service delivery environments.<br \/>\nAt least five years&#8217; experience operating on a senior managerial level.<br \/>\nFive years&#8217; experience in formulating and managing a technology strategy.<br \/>\nKnowledge of Technology Architecture.<br \/>\nKnowledge of Telecommunications Network Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Solid leadership skills<br \/>\nAbility to drive technology within the business and its clients<br \/>\nSolid strategic planning skills<br \/>\nSolid verbal and written skills<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnet.co.za\/viewlets\/apply\/job-apply-form-viewlet\/authentication?listingId=3541236&amp;isMobile=false&amp;buttonPos=Top_Button&amp;locale=en_ZA&amp;rltr=&amp;source=listing\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our large national telecoms company has a requirement for a CTO to work from their Durban or JHB offices.
