PURPOSE OF THE ROLE<\/p>\n
To manage all the strategies and operations related to the Telecoms sales divisions of the business, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance in line with budget and contractual expectations.<\/p>\n

Job Title: General Manager (Telecommunications)<\/strong> Job Summary:<\/strong> Overall management of the sales divisions Undertake line management of sales managers including day to day support and development, performance appraisal, disciplinary matters, resource planning etc Forge positive relationships with other departments such as HR, IT, finance, L&D and QA to support performance within the campaigns Lead on script development ensuring the need for sales volume is does not compromise on quality and compliance Keep up to date on competitors in the market to ensure selling opportunities are maintained Represent the sales business unit at Executive level, and at Board level as required Desired Experience & Qualification:<\/strong> Matric BEHAVIOURAL AND COMPETENCY REQUIRED:<\/strong> Package & Remuneration:<\/strong> Contract type: Fixed term contract until December 2024<\/p>\n Interested?

\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nOversee performance of campaigns to ensure achievement of targets
\nManagement of relationships with key partners, internal and external
\nNegotiate and ensure delivery on contractual obligations
\nKeep abreast of data usage and associated costs and conversions
\nEnsure regulatory and compliance related matters adequately understood and met
\nManage the budget and associated targets for each campaign ensuring revenue and sales targets are achieved
\nReport performance to management and Board as required highlighting issues, concerns, and action plan to improve performance
\nLeading and motivating a high performing team<\/p>\n
\nEnsure that adequate training and coaching is provided to support new employees, new product launches and continuous improvement within the campaign
\nMentoring and skill transfer with junior managers within the campaign
\nEnsure targets are set and achieved on an individual and team level
\nCommunication with other business units and stakeholders<\/p>\n
\nCommunicate clearly with such departments to ensure adequate and appropriate support is provided to teams and managers
\nLiaise with stakeholders such as product or system providers to ensure up to date knowledge and early identification of potential issues
\nCompliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements<\/p>\n
\nEnsure that key legislative and regulatory requirements are adhered to within sales management
\nEstablish appropriate controls to ensure compliance with above and to minimise exposure to risk
\nLead on preparation of relevant information for internal or external audits, verifications, and inspections
\nAct as operational Responsible Manager (linked to AFSL etc) for the sales floor as required
\nKeeping abreast of external market developments<\/p>\n
\nUnderstand changes in customer profile \/ demographic and potential impact on sales process or payment profiles
\nUnderstand staff movement and attrition and put in place initiatives to prevent destabilisation of campaigns
\nIdentify and work towards potential funding opportunities through for example DTI
\nContribute to the strategic leadership of the wider business<\/p>\n
\nIdentify potential strategic opportunities and partnerships
\nDevelop proposals for discussion at board
\nManage budgetary contribution for business unit<\/p>\n
\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nDegree\/ Diploma is an added advantage
\nAt least 5 years of experience in a similar role e.g., Campaign Director, Call Centre Manager, Senior Ops Manager or Head of sales
\nMust have Telecommunications experience within the call centre industry
\nMust be able to commute predominantly between JHB and DBN
\nMust have experience in both B2B and B2C sales
\nAbility to manage multiple campaigns
\nAbility to read and understand statistical information
\nAbility to spot trends or patterns
\nProject management approach
\nExperience in budget management
\nExperience of large-scale people management and skill development
\nExperience of driving high performance work culture
\nExperienced in management of cross departmental relationships
\nKnowledge of good practice in relation to QA and coaching processes
\nUnderstanding of data, diallers and systems used by the business
\nExperience of managing relationships with external stakeholders
\nThe ability to connect legal requirements with everyday job functions
\nRelevant qualifications or willing to achieve within reasonable timescale
\nKnowledge of call centre \/ sales environment and key challenges herein
\nExperience operating at Executive and Board level<\/p>\n
