\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nClient Details:<\/p>\n
\nBeing part of a documentation team responsible for producing high quality product technical documents. These include printable and online documentation, involving writing new documentation and online Help for products being developed, as well as maintenance of current software User and Technical Manuals, online Help and Installation Guides and translated versions of the product.
\nWorking closely with analysts, designers, developers, testers and other Documentation Writers to deliver high quality documents to a specified timescale.
\nTaking complex technical information and communicating it in a lucid, concise and accurate manner.<\/p>\n
\nBachelor’s degree (preferably in English, Communication, or similarly related field) is preferred<\/p>\n
\n2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
\nExcellent command of the English language – strong written and verbal communication skills
\nAbility to create, assimilate and convey technical material that may be intended for use by both technical and non-technical audiences
\nCreate, update and maintain user documentation for assigned products
\nAssemble and deliver finalised documentation to various release channels
\nApply agreed documentation standards, styles and processes when preparing user documentation
\nAbility to visually display information and format, and present images as part of effective content design
\nExperience using document editing software (e.g. Oxygen XML Editor, MS Office)
\nExperience with screen capture software (e.g. SnagIT)
\nExposure to Wiki usage
\nEditing and proof-reading experience
\nAbility to manage personal documentation environment and troubleshoot builds
\nContribute (where possible) to on-going documentation improvements:
\nStyles and standards
\nAuthoring tools and technologies
\nKnowledge of documentation methods, processes and best practices
\nExperience in the following would be advantageous:
\nTelecommunications or IT background
\nPrevious exposure to versioning systems (e.g. SVN)
\nAdobe Dreamweaver
\nPrevious exposure to DocBook XML, XSL, XSLT, XSLT-FO, Apache Ant (as well as exposure to MySQL, Oracle)
\nUnix experience (at least basic experience in Unix, such as being able to navigate around the system) and setting up environments will be helpful
\nPrevious exposure to documenting in an agile programming methodology<\/p>\n
