{"id":8080,"date":"2012-09-19T02:29:15","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T00:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=8080"},"modified":"2016-07-07T00:41:26","modified_gmt":"2016-07-06T22:41:26","slug":"sentech-learnership-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sentech-learnership-2013.html","title":{"rendered":"SENTECH Learnership 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Operations invite applications from qualified Electrical Engineering Technician\/Students for a one year Learnership programme which will include among other activities, installation and maintenance of transmitter technologies infrastructure on Sentech sites and client\u2019s premises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The prospective applicant should have the following:<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A valid S4\/N6 National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Light current with a theoretical knowledge of electronics and radio frequency technologies.<\/li>\n<li>A telephone and be contactable<\/li>\n<li>Appropriate theoretical knowledge of installation and\/or maintenance of technologies not limited to the following :<\/li>\n<li>FM, TV transmitters and relevant test equipment<\/li>\n<li>Audio distribution systems including STL equipment<\/li>\n<li>Satellite receiver equipment<\/li>\n<li>Antennas, R\/F systems and circuits<\/li>\n<li>Video and audio distribution systems<\/li>\n<li>Digital compression\/ encryption systems<\/li>\n<li>VSAT installations and commissioning<\/li>\n<li>Telemetry, computer and data radio systems<\/li>\n<li>High power transmitter maintenance experience<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of audio and radio frequency signal measurements\n<ul>\n<li>A code 08 (EB) drivers licence will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to perform Standby duties on a rotation basis and be available for call outs in the events of emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to drive long distances and work long hours when required<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to work away from home on regular basis<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to climb masts of up to 300m<\/li>\n<li>Be self-motivated and take responsibility for his\/her career development in Sentech<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to do FM, TV and RF competency tests as part of career progression (where applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The job responsibilities include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain equipment and infrastructure on Sentech sites and client\u2019s premises<\/li>\n<li>Install equipment and infrastructure on Sentech sites and client\u2019s premises<\/li>\n<li>Maintain operational information and finance systems<\/li>\n<li>Produce technical reports when required<\/li>\n<li>Play an active role in the improvement of facilities, standards and development of systems<\/li>\n<li>Function as part of a technical team<\/li>\n<li>Take responsibility for the training, mentoring and coaching of other team members<\/li>\n<li>Perform standby duties as required by the Operations Centre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sentech will give preference to suitable candidates who add to the cultural and gender diversity of the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IF you are interested and meet the required criteria as described above, please send your CV on\/or before 21 September 2012 to\u00a0recruitement@sentech.co.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Human Resources Department, Private Bag x06, Honeydew 2040<\/p>\n<p><strong>The learners will be placed in the following, areas:<\/strong>\u00a0Polokwane, Ermelo,<br \/>\nJohannesburg, Kroonstad, Vryburg, Vryheid, Vredendal, Durban,<br \/>\nEast London, Cape Town, George, Bloemfontein, Middelburg and<br \/>\nUpington.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date:<\/strong>\u00a021 September 2012<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Operations invite applications from qualified Electrical Engineering Technician\/Students for a one year Learnership programme which will include among other activities, installation and maintenance of transmitter technologies infrastructure on Sentech sites&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[38,326,2250],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
