\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nRole Purpose:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Ensure that an efficient and sustainable IT infrastructure is in place to support the business.
\n\u2022 Ensure that network infrastructure is optimised for maximum performance.
\n\u2022 Ensure user support service is in place and all user queries are resolved within a reasonable amount of time or set SLA.
\n\u2022 Management of all IT related costs and ensure costs are optimised and within budget.
\n\u2022 Ensure the required levels of access controls, firewalls and back-up processes are in place.
\n\u2022 Oversight role in all system related developments and implementations.
\n\u2022 Management of a team of ICT Specialists under area of responsibility.
\n\u2022 Develop skills development programs and offer mentorship to subordinates under area of responsibility.
\n\u2022 Administration of all deployed IT Systems and recommend changes or new systems that generate business value. Systems include but are not limited to SAP S4 HANA, MMIS, CIS, and Macmobile.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Guiding and providing leadership to the IT department and its technicians.
\n\u2022 Recommend relevant training programs for self and teams to close critical skills gap.
\n\u2022 Mentor ICT Specialists under area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the organisation\u2019s information technology (IT) department, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. This includes monitoring system performance and making recommendations for upgrades and patching.
\n\u2022 Assess system data integrity and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair. In this aspect of the role, an IT Manager may also determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades.
\n\u2022 Keeping an up-to-date asset register for all IT equipment. This includes tracking of asset movements for maximum accountability.
\n\u2022 Support the IT department activities while upgrading systems and servers and migrating the organization\u2019s data. They may introduce new methods to streamline the upgrade process, monitor the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Development and update of ICT policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates optimally. This includes developing service level agreements (SLAs), Knowledge bases (FAQs), employee handbooks for both IT and operations personnel.
\nSupport and Maintenance
\n\u2022 Direct user support through handling logged issues. The IT Manager should also anticipate possible challenges and act prior to service disruptions.
\n\u2022 Put in place systems to ensure issues are escalated to technicians with correct level of skills and are resolved with SLA.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Play a direct role in negotiating contracts with IT service providers. Assess department and business needs related to equipment and services and presents them to vendors. Compares pricing and vendor bids with their department\u2019s budget, determines which vendors offer the most advantageous terms, and negotiates rates with those vendors.<\/p>\n
\nQualifications:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in information technology and\/or National Diploma from recognized and reputable tertiary Institution.
\n\u2022 Relevant ICT professional certifications are required.
\n\u2022 Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 At least 3-years of post-graduate IT Operations management experience in a SAP environment.
\n\u2022 At least 5 years working experience in an ICT support and systems implementations environment with demonstrable duties and responsibilities.
\n\u2022 Working knowledge and hands-on experience of Microsoft products, IT network infrastructure (including SD WAN), telephony, and server hardware is required<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Strong technical skills: span from infrastructure to software
\n\u2022 Team leadership: be able to direct and lead teams of IT technicians.
\n\u2022 Effective communication skills: strong written and verbal, able to communicate with team members, management personnel, and end users throughout the organization.
\n\u2022 Problem-solving skills \u2013 this role also requires excellent problem-solving skills, especially when it comes to directly addressing user issues with software, hardware, and servers.
\n\u2022 Budget management: ability to oversee department budgets and capital expenditures.
\n\u2022 Systems implementation skills: requirements\/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support.
\n\u2022 Business process analysis and redesign experience: strong business analysis skills; process mapping; business process redesign and implementation
