\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nWe are looking for a motivated, dynamic individual to join our Software Development team. The ideal candidate will be involved in design, build, implementation and support of Application suites from the functional specification to product, in accordance with the defined business needs. The role requires scheduling, prioritisation, successful delivery of improvements, bug fixes and support of the product suite, in consultation with the Team\\ Project Leads, and using defined SDLC standards.<\/p>\n
\nTechnical analysis & design:<\/strong>
\nAbility to understand and interpret requirements and technical specifications;
\nAbility to produce technical specifications of small-medium complexity programs;
\nAbility to produce database designs;
\nAbility to provide technical estimates to work.<\/p>\n
\nCreate and amend programs in accordance with the design, agreed development standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered solution;
\nMaintain documentation and project files with respect to progress, problems, needed changes, etc., and provide regular reports on such to the Team\\ Project leader and\/or Systems;
\nReview technical deliverables and manage quality in order to ensure that what has been built meets user expectation;
\nProvide daily technical, functional and operation support for the existing software applications;
\nAvailable to provide After-hours and 24\/7 support on a rotational basis;
\nProvide first line support to the customers when required;
\nMust be able to communicate with customers and keep a good rapport
\nMust be able to prioritise between project work and customer support
\nMust be willing and available to travel to site for project and or support when required.<\/p>\n
\nConstruct, interpret and execute system and program test plans to verify correct operation of completed systems;
\nPlan, design and conduct test of program; correcting errors and re-test to achieve an error free result.
\nSkills and Competency
\nIs a self-starter who requires minimal supervision, and takes high ownership of work assigned
\nMust be able to provide guidance and support to junior developers to ensure that project deliverables are met in the required quality standards, time and budget estimations;
\nTakes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail;
\nAbility to work under pressure;
\nAbility to work from test scripts as well as the ability to complete independent, non-script based testing;
\nGood communications skills (verbal and written);
\nExperience using different development methodologies by the organisation;
\nTakes ownership of assigned tasks, maintains good rapport within the team, provides strong contribution and feedback to\/ from the team lead;
\nContributes towards improving development\/ support process. Focus on evaluating and analyzing flaws\/ discrepancies in system, and ability to implement efficient, high-quality solutions;
\nWork well with others as part of a team.<\/p>\n
\nEducation & Qualification:<\/strong>
\nBSc(Computer Science or Information Systems)\/ BCom(Information Systems)\/A National Diploma in IT\/and or equivalent qualification;
\nMicrosoft and or Oracle certifications would be an advantage.<\/p>\n
\nMust have 3 – 4 years\u2019 experience in systems development;
\nMust have minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience using Oracle Forms, Reports and PL\/SQL;
\nMust have 1 – 2 years\u2019 experience in C#, ASP.net, WPF (using also MVVM);
\nHaving experience in WCF, MVC will be an advantage;
\nHaving experience in Microsoft SQL Server will be an advantage;
\nHaving experience in .Net Core and .Net Web services development will be an advantage;
\nAzure, Xamarin, SQLite, Windows Store App & Windows Phone development would be an advantage;
\nExperience using Visual Studio or Telerik will be an advantage;
\nStrong analytical skills using Object-oriented design and programming;
\nPreference will be given to candidates with strong experience using PL\/SQL Developer;
\nPreference will be given to candidates with strong experience in Oracle Forms\/Reports;
\nExperience working with and developing laboratory information systems or weighbridge systems will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
