\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nTo support the timely and accurate financial and management reporting processes and rigorous analysis. Represents the department in the company, if required, and coaches and supports the development of junior assigned to him\/her.<\/p>\n
\nMain Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nFinancial analysis and Management reporting
\nPreparing financial analysis aimed at understanding the current and expected performance of the company. Such analyses are done in the context of actual performance against plans (Budgets) and forecast and drilling on key problem areas to understand root causes.
\nIdentifying and exploring possible solutions to issues impacting financial performance.
\nInvestigating and answering questions within the scope of the role\u2019s responsibility.
\nGathering and validating the integrity of information from different sources (systems and departments) required for financial analysis. Such information includes operational KPIs and financial data such as:
\nIncome Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow performance and articulate this in the Monthly Management Report (MMR), Investor, Shareholder and other ad-hoc reporting.
\nIdentify trends and provide appropriate commentary.
\nResponsibility for Capex, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow variance analysis against budget\/forecast and prior periods.
\nReview significant Balance Sheet accounts to verify the outputs and understand variances affecting financial reporting.<\/p>\n
\nPrepare Reporting related journals, including consolidation journals.
\nReview complex transactions for appropriate IFRS application including changes in accounting policies.
\nPrepare technical accounting opinions in conjunction with the business
\nPrepare Annual Financial Statements<\/p>\n
\nSupporting the preparation of financial reports such as:
\nAnnual, Quarterly and Monthly financial reports including reporting to Blue Label Telecoms,
\nManagement, shareholder and investors (Market update) reports
\nMonitor the activity within operational finance and other relevant areas of the business to ensure that the transactional processing is completed according to predefined timelines for group reporting.
\nReviewing the financial reports, identifying and correcting inconsistencies between different data sources, identifying trends, providing appropriate commentary, and ensuring an appropriate level of insight on the performance of the company.<\/p>\n
\nEnsure that final numbers reported are correctly reflected in the Cell C ERP system (Oracle and Workiva).
\nParticipate in automation of MMR and AFS in Workiva (Reporting Platform). Contribute to the improvement in automation of new reports where appropriate.
\nMonitor the changes between systems, additions of general ledger accounts and update the mappings to reflect the most up to date data.<\/p>\n
\nProvide support to the tax department where needed
\nPrepare regulatory returns as requested by the relevant authorities (ICASA, SARB, StatsSA, etc.)<\/p>\n
\nReinforce the following interdependencies:<\/strong>
\nOperational Finance (Accounting team): Understand the processing of accounting transactions. Obtain information for financial reporting disclosures.
\nBudget & Forecasting: Interact to understand basis of preparation of budget to assist variance analysis<\/p>\n
