Launched in November 2001, Cell C has rolled out more than 2,600 base stations nationwide and carries over 87% of its own traffic. The network operator has roaming agreements with 519 telecommunications operators in 181 countries worldwide. Cell C is South Africa&#8217;s most empowered telecommunications company in terms of equity ownership, preferential procurement, employment equity and enterprise and skills development.<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the Job<\/p>\n<p>To lead large scale projects on a full life cycle basis, both internally and externally, from concept to production in order to ensure the successful completion of the projects by applying best practice standards and principles, thus delivering both the entire large scale projects in line with the project scope and the clients requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Project Management.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Project planning and management from concept to production<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Apply appropriate project standards, methodology, processes and tools in project management<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Determine an appropriate work breakdown structure per project<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Develop project charters, aligning cross-functional resources with respective responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Define and allocate necessary resources and skills on the project and manage utilization<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Define project phases and major life-cycle milestones<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Project status tracking and reporting<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Develop the WBS ( Work Breakdown Structure) in order to deliver on the project scope.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Management of project level risks and issues<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Target delivery of projects within approved budget, timescales and quality<\/p>\n<p>\u2022End-to-end management of the testing process as part of the delivery process; including business simulation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Quality assurance at project-level<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Change control in terms of project-level impact<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Monitor the overall project progress, initiating corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverables are produced on time, within budget and expected quality<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Monitors and controls project team performance against plans<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Manage Supplier Relationship both technical and budget aspects<\/p>\n<p>2.Vendor Management.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Develop and maintain constructive relationships with vendors at all levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Manage the vendor deliverables on both a functional\/process and system\/technical level.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Attend regular meetings with vendors to ensure projects are running smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Manage the risk profile and develop contingency plans to ensure the critical success factors are addressed timeously<\/p>\n<p>3.Health and Safety Compliance.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Conform and adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental legislative requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Report any health and safety concerns\/incidents in the workplace to the manager \/ health and safety representative.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Assist Cell C to establish and maintain a fully compliant Healthy and Safe Work Environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Attend the Safety, Health and Environmental workshops as required by management.<\/p>\n<p>4.Cost and Budget Management.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Accountable for the finance commitments of the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Manage the approved budget for each project.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Prepare cost tracking and variation reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Inform Management timeously of over-spend.<\/p>\n<p>5.Management of the Project Team both internal and external.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Lead the Project Team in order to deliver the entire project life cycle within the agreed scope.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Select and manage resources<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Manage multi-disciplinary teams of experts<\/p>\n<p>6.Perform any other related duties as requested by Management.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 5 years experience in Technical Project Management.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience in Leading Large Scale Project Teams (matrix and 3rd party External Client management) with proven success<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 IT BSS\/OSS, ERP and \/ or Mobile telecoms project delivery<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Full Financial accountability<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Budget control<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Resource Scheduling inclusive of 3rd party vendors&#8230;.external clients<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educational Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Degree in Project Management qualification. With accreditation for PM (NQF 6 level)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Diploma only accepted with further accreditation e.g. PMP qualification.
