The magnificent garden remains at its core and every aspect of Babylonstoren is guided by the ever-changing tapestry and botanical diversity of the garden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Quantity Surveyor &amp; Project Cost Controller<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Paarl<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0Finance<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 2018649<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Babylonstoren is looking for passionate individual to perform the role of Quantity Surveyor and Cost Controller, ensuring that projected and current expenditure for projects align with the necessary goals and targets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Responsibilities:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Taking ownership of all estimating and cost-planning activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that cost management and valuation work is executed effectively.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that project cost variances and change control processes are effectively and pro-actively managed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that projected and current expenditure aligns with original budget, and that deviations are reported timeously and consistently.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Developing whole lifecycle cost models.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon timeously.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Tracking margin levels and monthly fee\/resource forecasts for all commissions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Acting as controller regarding the conclusion and adherence to contracts and terms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that commissions are managed to the appropriate quality standards and completed efficiently and timeously.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Assisting in negotiating, communicating and adhering to suppliers\u2019 terms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Assisting with close-out reports and project closure processes, including proper documentation compilation and archiving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that service delivery on commissions is aligned with the conditions of appointment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Overseeing value engineering, risk management and life-cycle costing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Applying value management techniques at the outset and throughout the running of a project.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Taking ownership of the procurement process, ensuring that all stages \u2013 including pre-qualification, enquiry, Bill of Quantities, analysis, selection and contract preparation \u2013 are performed effectively.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that QA\/QC procedures are adhered to.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Engaging with the client and other consultants at all project stages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ensuring that business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Cascading and retaining key information and data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A diploma or bachelor\u2019s degree in quantity surveying or other relevant tertiary qualification.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Minimum 3 \u2013 6 years\u2019 experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Strong analytical and data management abilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with good communication skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ability to develop relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Experience in managing a small team and performing line management duties would be beneficial.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.careers24.com\/login\/?returnurl=\/jobs\/apply\/2018649\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> July 15 2023<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Babylonstoren is one of the oldest working Cape Dutch farms in the Winelands region.
