Our exceptional growth is creating a once in a life-time opportunities to suitable incumbents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: LECTURER &#8211; SOCIAL SCIENCE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Pretoria<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Part-Time<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0Education<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 62058<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Purpose:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To teach \/ lecture an agreed number of hours based on module specialisation requirements.<\/li>\n<li>To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Central Academic Team.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Programme Coordinator in tracking and analysing of academic results to evaluate the performance of the module and to identify \u201cat risk modules.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.<\/li>\n<li>Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre<\/li>\n<li>Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.<\/li>\n<li>Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation.<\/li>\n<li>Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.<\/li>\n<li>Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result.<\/li>\n<li>Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.<\/li>\n<li>Academic Professional Development: complete a set number of academic professional development interventions per academic cycle (one year) that contribute to the improvement of the Brand\u2019s Teaching-Learning practice and personal professional academic status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>An NQF level above the programme being taught<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Social Science Honours specializing in Psychology<\/li>\n<li>2 to 3 years Lecturing or Formal Tutoring<\/li>\n<li>1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation will be advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Key Competencies:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.<br \/>\nKnowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to provide student support services.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage time effectively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Working Hours:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday.
