Anova\u2019s Jab Smart project was set up in late-2017 to respond to HIV among people who use drugs (PWUD) in Johannesburg Metro. PWUD are at particular risk of HIV and suffer high levels of stigma and prejudice, often being denied access to essential health services. Jab Smart is a peer-led project that provides a range of harm reduction services to PWUD. The project is implemented together with the COJ Health District, and it is supported by Global Fund through its partner NACOSA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Professional Nurse &#8211; PWUD<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Contract<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0Medical<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 62896<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a Professional Nurses to be responsible for comprehensive, integrated, cascade of care, inclusive of diagnosing, treating, monitoring and evaluating communicable and infectious diseases. The Professional Nurse will consult and provide preventative, curative, rehabilitative treatment\/health care to People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) on various clinical aspects to our supported outreach facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Treatment, Care Mentorship and Provision<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Collaborate with OST doctor and Clinical Nurse Mentor to provide OST\/ hepatitis. treatment and care mentorship to other clinicians.<\/li>\n<li>Provide OST\/ STI and Hepatitis treatment to PWUDs at CoJ and surrounding areas.<\/li>\n<li>Manage treatment outcomes amongst PWUDs.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to CoJ OST sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>OST Clinic Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Manage the CoJ OST clinic.<\/li>\n<li>Dispense and account for methadone and other medication.<\/li>\n<li>Account for clinical supplies and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate PWUDs on ART and keep records thereof.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Project Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Support Professional Nurses to achieve set HTS targets.<\/li>\n<li>Support psychosocial workers and advocacy officer in achieving set targets.<\/li>\n<li>Account and submit monthly reviews of HTS and ART registers, linkage registers inventory of project items.<\/li>\n<li>Account for and submit monthly narratives on OST sites as well as other activities done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>A degree or diploma qualification as a Professional Nurse.<\/li>\n<li>Registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.<\/li>\n<li>NIMART (Nurse Initiated Management of ART) qualification (essential).<\/li>\n<li>NIMDR Nurse initiated management of drug-resistant TB (essential).<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Pharmacy degree will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Post graduate diploma in Nursing (Primary Health Care Nurse) will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Must have a dispensing license.<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience in Public Health sector.<\/li>\n<li>3 years\u2019 management experience.<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience as a registered nurse in NGO\/Community clinic or a hospital environment.<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with latest HIV Management, TB and PMTCT guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good report writing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills, including time management and multi-tasking skills.<\/li>\n<li>Drivers licence &amp; able to drive to sites where support is required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.careers24.com\/login\/?returnurl=\/jobs\/apply\/2036596\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>July 04 2023<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with our Employment Equity goals and plan, preference will be given to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto.<\/p>\n<p>Anova Health Institute is a provider of essential health services and therefore has a mandatory vaccination policy.
