We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: HR Officer &#8211; Grain Field Chickens Abattoir , Reitz<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Free State<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong> Agriculture, Human Resources<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 67264<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB DECRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The incumbent will be responsible for providing expertise and support and perform employee relations activities which will include &#8211; but not limited to &#8211; Industrial Relations, workforce planning, AWOL and absenteeism management in order to increase plant quality and turnaround time, in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures).<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>A relevant HR Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years\u2019 experience in a similar role is essential.<\/li>\n<li>Min 3 years IR expertise gained within the FMCG \/ Manufacturing\/ Agriculture environment (unionized environment).<\/li>\n<li>Solid, proven and applied understanding of the LRA and BCEA.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of HR Systems is essential.<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills at an advanced level.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to understand and speak the vernacular used in the Eastern Free State (Southern Sotho) will be a definite advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.<\/li>\n<li>A driver\u2019s license and own transport will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>A willingness to enter the plant (cold and wet environment) on a regular basis, to address a large number of employees on the floor.<\/li>\n<li>A willingness to work overtime, incl. Saturdays, when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Industrial Relations (IR)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Facilitate end-to-end disciplinary processes in liaison with line management.<\/li>\n<li>Advise and provide support to all Stakeholders in terms of Industrial and Labour Legislation &#8211; ensuring effective service delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Provide effective and efficient IR advice, support &amp; administration within set guidelines and deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Where required, offer support to the Group Legal Advisor at the Bargaining Council\/ CCMA with respect to GFC cases.<\/li>\n<li>Together with the HR Manager, ensure the appropriate management of all employee relations issues including grievances, poor performance and disciplinary action.<\/li>\n<li>As part of Key 10, assist with monitoring AWOL, absenteeism levels, grievances levels, disciplinary processes, employee well-being matters and the development of suitable initiatives and solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining healthy relationships between shop stewards and management.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with coordinating the monthly shop stewards\u2019 meetings.<\/li>\n<li>In the absence of the HR Manager, chair shop stewards\u2019 meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate and timely minutes are kept of all shop stewards\u2019 meetings, minutes distributed timeously, and outstanding items\/ items raised and followed up on time.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure strict adherence to the LRA, BCEA and organizational standards, policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all stakeholders and customers are well informed at all times and establish a free flow of information.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all HR practices are fair, consistent and executed within the boundaries of relevant HR policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure high level of accuracy and integrity of HR information thereby ensuring that ethical work, professionalism and leadership behaviour is demonstrated.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver on IR projects such as conducting IR\/ HR training to line managers, junior employees and other relevant stakeholders on a monthly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct regular engagement with employees to explain company policies and procedures, address issues timely and report to management all unresolved ones.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Payroll Officer to coordinate and prepare IR-related payroll information for the month-end.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a point of contact for employees\u2019 IR-related issues and ensure these are resolved timeously and satisfactorily.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that proper records are kept including resolved IR queries and the type of resolution\/ feedback given.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor compliance with applicable labour legislation by doing dip stick checks through surveys\/ questionnaires.<\/li>\n<li>Report all non-compliance to the HR Manager to ensure corrective action is taken.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in and drive Key 10 as part of the company\u2019s 20 Keys Continuous Improvement initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Collate and submit IR Reports on a weekly\/ monthly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Support the identification and development of processes to optimize cost efficiency (responsible use of telephone\/ printing).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Human Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Assist with driving the GFC Annual Wellness Program.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of HR SOPs, procedures, work processes\/ process flows and other abattoir-specific processes.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the drafting and review of Job Descriptions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with drafting new KPIs and reviewing exiting ones.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with SLAs between HR and the various internal departments.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the periodic staff EOS and actioning thereof in conjunction with the plant engineer.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with PIP with respect to poor performance management.<\/li>\n<li>Together with the systems administrator, ensure that the plant authorized Man load is kept up to date accurately at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate records are kept in line with company policy.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all internal &amp; external visitors to the HR Office are handled in a professional, welcoming and friendly manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Complete all documentation accurately and in full &#8211; Range: Documents include, but are not limited to:\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><strong>AWOL Report<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Key 10 Survey<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Payroll Queries &amp; Unpaids (Graphs)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>50% Sick Leave<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Stop Salary<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Terminations List<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>IR Report<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bestuurstate Graphs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Complete and\/ or update the prescribed reports and\/ or documentation manually and\/ or on the relevant HR computer system.<\/li>\n<li>Capture and keep accurate employee data in the relevant HR system and perform general HR Administration duties.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as may be assigned by line management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>High level of attention to detail with excellent time management, planning, coordinating and prioritizing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent negotiation, liaison and administrative skills.<\/li>\n<li>Practical knowledge in a generalist HR environment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure, within set guidelines and adhere to deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent telephonic, verbal and written communication skills across all levels within the organization.<\/li>\n<li>Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking, ability to do own job planning and function independently.<\/li>\n<li>High level of multi-skilling, flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.<\/li>\n<li>Results driven with high customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Practical knowledge of applicable labour legislation and compliance environment including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, LRA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act &amp;
