Good health and quality of life is what motivates us to provide healthcare solutions and support for those who need it most.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Counsellor \u2013 Facility and Community<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0Medical<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 68926<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a\u00a0Counsellor \u2013 Facility and Community\u00a0to be responsible for HTS services and ensure that proper linkage to care of all HIV infected patients is done according to Department of Health guidelines, and to perform HTS at community level during outreach campaigns when required.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients in line with DoH policies and guidelines and in line with District 909090 DIP and Sub-district IP 909090 plans<\/li>\n<li>Provide HTS at facility and community level and other out-of-facility sites whenever required.<\/li>\n<li>Promote HTS through health talks and by participating in social mobilisation activities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide post-test counselling and adherence support to clients.<\/li>\n<li>Link HIV positive clients to facility for ARV initiation or mobile van<\/li>\n<li>Trace all positive tested clients who were not initiated same day.<\/li>\n<li>Be available to assist all HIV patients in the facility and community with relevant counselling needs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all clients tested HIV positive are linked into care and keep a record of how many are initiated on Antiretroviral treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Report challenges related to the referral system and linkage to care to Community Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Keep an updated record of number of clients who were offered HTS, tested, tested HIV positive, and linked into care, in line with tools used by DoH and Anova (should there be additional data capturing tools) and record it daily in the facility register.<\/li>\n<li>Identify critical programme stakeholders and establish working relationships with them.<\/li>\n<li>Provide feedback to the Community Coordinator on facility and community on social dynamics that impact on project activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Matric qualification<\/li>\n<li>Training and certification in Basic HIV and Aids, STI and TB (HAST), HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling, and finger pricking.<\/li>\n<li>ROTF support counselling<\/li>\n<li>Adherence clubs<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in Couple counselling, RTCQI, disclosure and paediatric consent is advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two years\u2019 experience as a counsellor<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two-year experience in HIV or public health environment<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines and protocols<\/li>\n<li>General knowledge of health education<\/li>\n<li>General knowledge of TB\/HIV\/PMTCT programme guidelines\/counselling messages<\/li>\n<li>Counselling skills<\/li>\n<li>Good oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills, including task and time management, ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines, and work without daily supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Location: Klipfontein and Mitchells Plain<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.careers24.com\/login\/?returnurl=\/jobs\/apply\/2066395\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>September 22 2023<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with our Employment Equity goals and plan, preference will be given to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cPreference will be given to persons with disabilities\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anova Health Institute is a provider of essential health services and therefore has a mandatory vaccination policy.
